I wake up this morning feeling anxious but not nervous about this game. I am already packed and ready for the trip tomorrow.

None of the analysts I have heard are confident of their picks. Which usually when the Pats are in they are real confident and usually lean towards the Pats.

One element that seems to come up more than anything is the "experience" the Pats have going to the SB. Most all those players don't have the experience that seems to be the talk. And they lost last year. Thats got to get them not wanting to repeat that loss which will have an affect on their nerves and focus.

I think our team is going to be hyper focused. I have a feeling like this is going to be a well played game by our Rams.

The secret sauce to shutting down the Pats is getting to Brady. And we have the D that can do that maybe better than any other team in the league. The Pats can not win this game running the ball. They just can't.

I am not getting on the plane tomorrow with hope, but expectation.

What a great send off.

GO RAMS!!!

This is reflective game for me.

I’m thinking back to our first trip to the SB in 1979. How happy I was to finally get there after so many years of disappointments. 1967, 1969, 1973 to 1978. Those 8 years of playoff hopes getting dashed and watching 2 other teams on the big stage and getting all the love on the cover of SI. I suffered terribly through all of them.

It’s been a long and winding road for this obsessive 66 year old Rams fan, and it’s a strange but wonderful feeling to see the Los Angeles Rams in the big dance. I’m just glad and thankful to see it again.

I think back now on all my childhood heros, Merlin, Deacon, Roman, Les, Tom, and Maxie. And how wonderful it is to have been there in the 60’s and seen it, and felt it.

I won’t be at the game. And there will be thousands of people who have little connection to the team I love who will be there. But the funny thing about that is there is absolutely no way any of them knows what it really feels like for someone who has invested so much emotional capital to see the Rams on the field in the super bowl.

So I’m enjoying this game, at home, win or lose, with all my heart, but feeling nostalgic about the old days. I expect all you old timers like me to know exactly what I’m talking about. And to every diehard Rams fan, young or old, congrats and enjoy this game, and this time.

beleive me max, i know exactly what you're talking about...

i just watched the aquib talib interview in rams site... if you haven't seen it, go now...

his comment on nerves before the game...

reporter: "i know it's a little bit early, but what do you do to calm down before a game..?"

talib: "i don't know... really i just really stick to my day, film study,be with my family, and stuff like that, you know, just ,uh.. nerves are good, you might not need to calm down you know, nerves mean you care about the results..you know so it's a good thing if you get nervous..
if you're not getting nervous, and you don't really care about the game, the you probably don't really care about the results of that game"..

talib's leadership is priceless.. it's quotes like that that are a calming force for a team that has to be a little nervous..

it's almost time, nerves are on the upswing, go get 'em rams...

Yeah, like the Cowboys and the Vikings!!!! I know what your really meant but it seemed like it was one or the other sending us home for the season. Dallas 3 times, Minnesota 4 times. Heaven help us if we had to beat both in the same postseason...never happened.

Most (not all but a huge percentage) of the talkers are picking Pats. And of those the reason is either B&B or Experience.

Andy Benoit of SI actually gives some explanation for his Pats pick. He thinks the Rams are more talented but its just a match-up of styles that favors the Pats.

Since none of their picks have anything to do with the outcome I don't care.

My thought is they are underestimating the Rams.

Although the Pats are better than the '17 Seahawks, I look back at that game from last year. It was time for the old guard to go down. The Rams knew it and obliged. Big. That team was ready to play and I think this team will be ready.

If the Rams are to lose, it would be easier to take if it was the Chiefs. If the Rams are to win, nothing will be sweeter than beating the Pats.

Go Rams!

They had HOF QBs, we didn’t. Simple as that.

Back in the 60’s and 70's you needed a top tier QB to win SB.

You're not wrong. Every QB to start and win a Super Bowl through 1979 ultimately made it to the HOF:

Bart Starr
Joe Namath
Len Dawson
Johnny Unitas (started but was injured in SB5, replaced by Earl Morrall)
Roger Staubach
Bob Griese
Ken Stabler
Terry Bradshaw

The first non-HOF QB to start and win a Super Bowl was Jim Plunkett in 1980.
