Yeah, those are pretty ugly too. BTW, what's the fixation in the deep south with large cats? Panthers, Jaguars, Tigers for most of the SEC schools.

Hacksaw wrote:Is opposition to Rams' move emerging?
By Nick Wagoner

http://espn.go.com/blog/st-louis-rams/p ... e-emerging

"ST. LOUIS --We usually kick off the week with a review of something from Sunday's slate of games, but Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio offered a post related to the St. Louis Rams and their potential relocation on Sunday night that was too interesting to ignore.

According to Florio, a group of influential owners actively opposed to the Rams' efforts to move to Los Angeles is beginning to emerge. Florio mentions Carolina's Jerry Richardson as one of those owners, which is notable since Richardson is a part of the NFL's committee on Los Angeles opportunities.

Like most of the rest of this process, things are constantly bubbling under the surface and the end game remains anyone's guess. But it's notable that a prominent name has at least been paired with this particular round of reporting.

At this point, it seems many options remain in play and there's little doubt that things will evolve and change before a decision is made. At least in the court of public opinion. And no matter how it turns out, with each day, at least we move closer to a much-needed conclusion.
"

Well that was informative.

Seriously Wagoner thinks it is notably because he is a member of the committee. Oh my word, we live in a country made up of committees, the problem with politics or committees in our country is the best fit or best person for the job never runs or volunteers. A person who is truly successful or darn good at what they do are often content in knowing this of themselves they need no spotlight, so others who lack a sense of self appreciation and security, their hole can only be filled with others thinking they matter or are important. So these folks join committees for their own hole.

In politics we time and again have the great options of voting for our lawyer vs the other lawyer. Problem is what is the job of a lawyer to debate and win arguments. So many times it causes gridlock as each aisle lawyers are more concerned with winning a argument instead of doing what is best for all. It is the nature of the human animal.

Heck I am sure by now in life all of us have had to face or speak with some committee, be it at school or homeowners association, however some kind of committee and when ya walk away many times ya think wow if only so and so was on that committee as they are dialed in. Where as many times after dealing with such we walk away with the prevailing thought some or many are on a committee for a agenda or to self aggrandize.

Many times we know and feel one member of a committee is there because they have no life and they feel the need to tell ya what to do with yours the member who we can refer to as the busybody. We often also find the member who has broken his arm from patting himself on the back so much, now he needs ya to do it for him. An so many other personality traits we find unappealing are found on a committee because committees are often made up up volunteers.

Early on in our country we find men who ran for elected office as they saw they were needed and did not always want the job and so when they served they would of their own accord step down so they could get back to the wants and needs of their own lives they put on hold so they could serve their fellow man. In time men like this were no longer to be found and we had to vote in term limits to remind the new breed they have a life and politics is not their life.

Same in religious text take for example Moses when he was called he found every reason and excuse not to go but in the end the knowledge of if I don''t do it who will won out.

Mankind never changes be they rich or poor man will have agendas, insecurity, a need for recognition and the heart of man often does not changes in us no matter what we have or don't have.

In my opinion it is always the reluctant or the person ya have to convince to take the job or be on the committee who is always the best fit. They fit best because of their reluctance and that reluctance comes from they weigh the cost and find what most will, it is never worth it. As serving is never glorious and is filled with work and heartbreaks. Hence why we call doing such things servitude as it is only one step up the ladder better than being a slave.

So I always fear any person who raises their hand before the question is fully asked who wants to volunteer. Now mind ya not all our like this as we all know someone who volunteers and it can't be helped they just have a natural servants heart. However we all also know the person who always volunteers because that person knows it will put them in the middle of the spotlight.

So which one of this is Richardson I have no clue. I do know from my own life and my guess in others as well. We already know which one is which on a committee we have knowledge of and have had to deal with. We know strongly enough that when we have to deal with a committee we hear each member with open ears or tone them out as they offer what they believe the course of action we should take should be.

So how important or what agenda Richardson serves I have no clue, however I am willing to bet his fellow owners know. So to Wagoner he is impressed with the shinning title by his name and he sees the importance that comes endowed with a shiny title. Which is to be expected one of the reason mankind came up with titles is so a person can seem important. So did Richardson join the committee because he has a agenda or because he wants to serve his fellow rich I have no clue. However I am more than certain his fellow owners know and his opinion or advice will weigh according to his motivation upon them and they will do in accordance to their perception. So I don't think his shiny title influences them anymore than the title of president of the homeowners association does us. Shiny titles always seem to impress folks who are caught up in titles of nobility or who are on the outside meanwhile the folks who have have to deal with the shiny title are as never impressed. So my reckoning is the opinion of Richardson will only go as far as each owners pocketbook and the echo that reverberates from the pocketbook will be the deciding factor.

Perhaps a little bit of a tangent, but this is precisely why the SR-71 Blackbird is my favorite aircraft... it was the last major airplane that was NOT designed by committee. There are soooo many cutting edge design decisions on that aircraft, and sooo many risks that were taken that conspired to produce a beautiful transonic aircraft that was decades ahead of its time.

So yup, committees breed mediocrity and are designed for people seeking titles and roles that inflate egos in a bland hierarchically structured world.

Ok, side rant over.
