This might have been mentioned and please correct me if I'm wrong. The Rams could carry 1 QB (Stafford) on the 53 man roster. Jimmy is suspended for the first few games and Bennett makes it to the practice squad. The Rams, I believe, could elevate and activate Bennett the first 2 weeks.

If all of that happened, the Rams would have an extra roster spot for a couple of weeks. They did something similar with not having a kicker last year and activating one for game day.

Again, just thinking outside the box. It would have to mean the Rams risk losing Bennett on waivers as well as other things.

Personal I feel the Rams keep him on the 53 the start of the season,
then after JimmyG two game suspension is over,
Bennett get sent to the PS

The RAMs will always have two QBs on the 53-man roster at minimum. IMO

Don't know if they'll do it (Bennett on PS) but definitely possible. You can elevate a PS player 3 times.

They could do that Action. It’s risky as Bennett could be scooped up off the PS. Then you have no backup QB. I like Elvis and 69’s suggestion of Bennet to PS after JG comes back.

It's not that hard to protect a player on the PS. Even if a team claims him, Rams can offer to put him on 53 and keep him, but it's up to the player at that point.

The real risk is getting him on the PS. You have to cut him and he has to clear waivers. Another team could claim him and then he's their property.

I don't think the Rams will risk that.

My biggest “surprises” on the 53 are Hummel, Speights, and Charles Woods. All this depends on if they trade for or sign a vet Corner. Which likely happens after week 1 if it’s a F/A signing (Witherspoon). Surprise cuts/no PS: Reeder, K Thomas. L Murchison. Surprise that we are 4 players heavier on defense.

They could go lighter at ILB (3) and then add to either DL or Edge

**Once Bennett goes to the PS they will elevate either an Edge or Corner/Safety

This will change/be in flux throughout the season, obviously.
