It is a bit disturbing that Cook was not a team captain. Gotta wonder why.

That's the only knock on him as far as his character/leadership is concerned?

The scouting dilemma for NFL teams interested in Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook is being laid out well in advance of the thick of the off-season.

NFL Media analyst Bucky Brooks wrote last week that despite Cook's impressive accomplishments at MSU, an evaluation of his intangibles could damage his draft stock, and a scout revealed his own concerns about Cook's personality, motivation and work ethic in a remark to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

"Physically, (Cook's) pretty good," the scout said. "He can make all the throws and he's got some strength to him and he can run. It's all the other stuff with him. How much does he really like ball? How much is he going to work at it? He likes being a celebrity."

Cook is the winningest QB in MSU history with a 34-4 career record and is a very intriguing talent. Yet, he isn't a team captain, which, as Brooks wrote, plays into the narrative questioning his leadership skills. A scout told CFB 24/7 last week that Cook is the most polarizing prospect in the 2016 draft and called him a third-rounder who'll be an "average starter at best."

Clearly, there are strong opinions on Cook in the NFL scouting community. The "celebrity" comment is a bit puzzling because, while Cook is well known to scouts and plenty of fans, he certainly doesn't have the national following that some other high-profile QB prospects attracted in recent years.

The more serious questions from the scout have to do with Cook's work ethic and desire. If teams have serious concerns about him in those areas, it could be a bigger strike against him than any other perceived deficiency.

I wonder how many of Cook's teammates came to his birthday party?

Ehhh idk he doesn't really scare me. I mean Winston had a million red flags and he was drafted first overall.

Other then then Cook not being named captain and the Archie Griffen thing theres nothing else wrong with the guy. His winning percentage and stats tell the real story. I follow him on titter and IG and I went back years and looked at his media postings. He seems dedicated to football and he's a good kid.

Who knows though the captain thing might be serious after all.

He plays in a big program and won a lot, in some ways he was a celebrity in Michigan. I think he could handle LA.

Yeah Den, and I watched some of his games. He doesn't look accurate to me.

There certainly are red flags with this guy. I heard Jeremiah and Brooks say he may be a good fit for the Eagles in the 2nd round. Too bad those dolts don't know the Eagles don't have a 2nd round pick.

Realistically, none of the QBs in this draft are close to the prospects that Winston and Mariota were last year. These guys are much bigger question marks if you ask me. Yet, someone is gonna take them a lot higher than where they would have gone last year.

He really does look like him.

Never mind, let's roll with Wentz lol

Seriously though, I would give up two 2's to go up and get Wentz.

Is Wentz worth a swapped 1st and our retained 2nd? Or do we look into FA?

Not sure Hacksaw. But it would have been prudent to draft Bortles, Bridgewater, or Carr ahead of GR in 2014.
