He's done it both ways on the final week. In 2017, he rested guys but they lost to Atlanta anyway. In 2018, the Saints were 13-2 going into the final week, had the #1 seed wrapped up by virtue of the tiebreaker over the Rams but we could have finished as the 3rd seed because Chicago was 11-4 and had the tiebreaker over the Rams, so he played the regulars, knowing that a win gave us a week off (2 teams with byes then). Consequently, the Saints lost to us in the playoffs. It's a tough call.

I believe our "off" game in NJ Sunday was a little because of the 10 days between games. And it could be a blessing. If we had an easy time vs the Giants, we could have started to read the press clippings. This way, they should have no problem getting motivated for SF, even if SF needed to win and played their regulars. But as physical as we are vs SF, so they are vs the Rams. Backup defensive players want to make a splash with big hits. And I think you're right. A couple of series, maybe a quarter and a half of the regulars, minus Stafford (thumb), Kupp (hammy and ankle) and Kyren (ain't the same team without him). But who knows besides McVay, the staff and the players?

I don't think Stafford had a bad game,
Even though he threw two picks,
those throws it sailed on him.

I believed that could have been more of a wind factor,
playing outdoors is a lot different than playing indoors.

Stafford actually had a pretty good game,
Stats:
34/Att, 24/comp, 70%/comp, 317yd, 4/sacks, 1/TD, 2/Int
He had at least two drops from his WRs.
Then when WR/DRob fumble, that took more plays away from the offense.

It does appear from the moves that the Rams will be resting players at least those that are banged up and others that are too important to lose. However a fair amount of starters will play as we only have 48 on game day. I think they play Puka enough to get the record.

I also think the niners will rest pivotal players, I dont see Deebo, Trent Williams and the like playing.

The good news is no matter what the Rams will be playing indoors at Detroit or Dallas. Detroit seems to be the easier game, yet Detroit just beat Dallas except for the ref call. Frankly either team is playing very well at the moment. The Rams themselves were due for a clunker, hopefully that is out of the way now.

Official #2

No Stafford, Kyren, Kupp, AD or Ernest Jones
No Tyler and Noteboom, still dinged

So Puka is up

He won’t be up for long. Get record then hit the bench. Get Tutu and Johnson as many reps as possible.

I hope Wentz shreds the whiner “D”.

If you haven't been hurt after 16 weeks what's the odds of getting hurt in week 17? I think play all starters except the old timers at least half the game.

Personally,

I don't think DRob or Tutu will be playing,

Most likely they would be dressed,

but won't play unless an injury happens.

They signed WR/Johnson from the PS to the 53,

To add with Skowronek, Trammell and Puka until he breaks the record.

Maybe not a bad game but certainly not a very good game. He was high a lot with his throws, maybe because he was a bit off or maybe because Wink designed some stuff we didn't pick up on. Perspective can be off too. Watching him after the bye he was practically perfect so that skews the perspective a bit. ;) But any time you have less TDs than picks, it's not good.
