I’m optimistic. However, notice how he takes an extra step and plant his back foot to make those bombs. This doesn’t work without a good OL, space, and time to throw. Check out Herbert and his throws, by comparison. Even MS has the arm to make the throw without the extra leverage. His accuracy and ball speed at distance is impressive, however.

There are a couple of throws where he’s scrambling with good arm motion and speed. So I think it’s an improvement over our back ups.

He is young and can be a gamer. So I’m rooting for him. I hope McVay doesn’t limit his gunslinging.

Who cares if he takes an extra step,

I'm sure he has a clock in his head in how much time he needs to make that throw.

Beside, he has a cannon arm,

No way either Woolfie or Perkins can make those throws.

As I mention in one of my other postings,

in a play action, to keep the D front from rushing,

He should have enough time on certain plays of the game,

If not, then he could hit his safety outlet.

I hope that the RAMs can resign him for a backup role in 2023.

That he would be willing to learn under McVay and Stafford for a year or two.

Today's practice, will be him throwing to his WRs and getting the timing down,

To include learning a small part of the play book, I would say 15 to 20 plays.

and sharing time with either Perkins or Woolfie during game time. IMO

I can see him playing on Thursday.

With play calls like, "throw it to 18," or "throw it to 15," or "throw it to 19," or "hand off to 3," or "hand off to 23."

Or my favorite play call from when I was a teenager playing pickup games with my friends: "Everybody go long."

I assume he finds the field but has limited PT.

Mayfield just left. He said he forgot how bad our clown costumes are. He's going to Canada.

He's certainly had his ups and downs but I would be cautious about judging his last team's experience. They sucked, and he sucked right along with them. Attitude can be a bunch for a professional athlete and L.A. will likely suit him more than Cleveland or Charlotte. This could be nothing or it could be very big. I'm pretty excited.
