Selfishly I would love big Whit to run it back but I think it's his time to move to the next chapter of his life. I would love for him to remain a part of the organization maybe doing more community outreach programs. We are not the organization we are today without him coming on board when he did.

A dynasty doesn't come around very often. They aren't one yet but the opportunity is there for it. Belichick is considered the most successful coach of this era.

If McVay wants it, he has a chance to be the most successful coach of his era. Donald's career will eventually be over. He's already considered the best defensive tackle ever by quite a few people. Being part of a dynasty with multiple championships would cement that with the ones who aren't convinced yet.

Football is in their blood. It ain't easy to just walk away when they still have plenty left to accomplish.

After a month or so, that joy will start to dull just a bit. Life happens. I sure hope they come back and give it another shot. With McVay, Stafford, Kupp, Woods, OBJ, Jefferson, Higbee & Co. can score points against anybody. We won this SB without Woods & Higbee, missing OBJ for more than half the game. Imagine what could happen with them all on the field? And this defense. Morris was ragged early on but proved he can coach with the best of them. Defense played a huge part in winning this game. Donald, Miller, Floyd, Ramsey, Gaines, ROBINSON and Co. can do great things. Let's see it!

To add to my above post. I don't think McVay is the coach he is today without some of the guidance given to him from Whit. His absence would surely be felt but his legacy is in the DNA of this team's culture and that isn't going anywhere as long as McVay is HC.

If I was McVay, I would forgo the chances to make more money in the booth. He has reached the top at such a young age. He has a chance to go down in football lore as a total legend. To be mentioned with other great coaches of all time. As he still has time to accomplish so much more.

I would pursue that till either I reached it or I failed. That would drive me more so than money. I just jumped in here so if this was already mentioned apologies for repeating what someone else said.

Listening to a podcast the other day, McVay got a 5 year deal for something like $15 mil per.

I'm wondering if that's 5 years starting now or on the end of his current contract which had a year or two left on it...

Well, that's nice and all, but I'd prefer a 30 year deal. We have to make up for lost time, gotta catch those Steelers, niners and Patriots in Super Bowl tallies.

If that's true (either way), I'd say that the Rams got a bargain! I hope McVay is the Rams HC for at least 3 decades!
