Great point dieter and what else gets lost by some of the St. Louis media is that the Riverfront Stadium is not a top tier stadium and Jim Thomas stated Kroenke has not right for a top tier stadium, well Jim, yes he does. He won arbitration and unless he's given that, he does not have to accept anything less.

You can't alienate one owner just because fat ass Spanos does not want to play nice, IMO, some deal will be made and I can't see how you can force an owner to stay in a market he does not want to be in.

That's what I meant by "this is the key issue the NFL has to resolve."

It will cause an extremely uncomfortable situation if Spanos and Davis are running a victory lap around Carson and Kroenke is sent back to remain in limbo looking to escape STL.

The narrative that the NFL is putting out there on their radio station is that no one has 24 votes. I read that as we should expect a compromise.

Exactly.
Like you, I'm an east coaster, so I dont have a dog in the fight. On one hand, the team staying in St Louis means its more feasible for me to get to a home game, and on the other, I grew up watching the Rams play in LA, on grass. So its basically a draw.

What has pushed me to the LA side is what you are talking about. From day 1 that stadium was a joke. The turf was awful, (rated amongst league worst and had to be replaced) the seats being Cardinal red, and maybe the experience in person is better but the lighting makes every game look like it takes place in a warehouse.
So aside from any pro-LA talk, I started developing a grudge against the ED during the GSOT. For all the glory and praise the team was getting, it was pissing me off that they didnt upgrade the stadium, give it a Rams feel
I was psyched when there was an ownership change, felt like a new owner would make positive change. And I loved that Kroenke challenged the top tier, it was about damn time somebody did!
So here we are now, Stan is supposed to move the team from one blase, vanilla stadium in to some low budget, vanilla, generic outdoor stadium?

I know the owners are just people, like you and me. Put their socks on one leg at time. And I know with that leads to uncertainty about being BFF with Deano. But at the core of it, I hope that reasoning takes over.

Well, I think there's a bunch of spin in that. Let's be honest, nobody has votes until they, well you know, um vote....

If they knew one side has the votes, they will have to deal with how the other side is dealt with after

If they knew one side had the votes, then all 3 owners would know it as well. And we wouldn't see all 3 owners filing for relocation, would we?

So clearly no one has 24 votes by themselves without any help from the NFL pushing votes to one side or the other. And the way I'm reading it is if Spanos had enough votes or Kroenke's votes were not solid enough to block, then Goodell would tell Stan he needs to back off.

I just don't see the owners sitting in a meeting and forcing one side to get screwed after it wasn't clear that one side had enough votes going in.

This is where you and I disagree because if I had their money I would have somebody to put on my socks and her name would be "Lola" L-O-L-A Lola,

This perked my interest.

I'm wondering what part of league Staff Goodell and Grubman are in charge of? I knew the committees were part of the process but how much does the "NFL Staff" weigh in?

The NFL has done a good job stretching this out to allow all 3 cities a chance. Amazing that we are this close to the finish line and still don't know the winner. You would think the NFL would at least end the drama now that the season and ticket sales are done for all 3 teams.

Well, look at all I missed after crashing early last night.

The underscored is one of the 3 reasons that I am concerned about tan outcome in our favor. Besides the 2 relocation fees suffing a billion into the NFL war chest and the committees apparently stacked against the Rams interests, the league stopped the Rams (or anyone) from filing last year. Kroenke may well have started the stadium by now and Spanos would be S.O.L. This would have been one owner frustrated but it could have been far more easily managed than all this is.

Who benefits from a delay other than Spanos, Davis and StLoo?
I guess the NFL looks more like a benevolent organization as you point out and may have done what it needed to avoid lawsuits.

The report that ESK if denied might build the stadium anyway is an interesting play.

Cant forget Enos Slaughter Stan Musial Kroenke is a born and bred Missouri guy.
