I'm thinking that there is some legal mumbo jumbo that the media isn't aware of ... like the "announcement" of Gurley being signed by Atlanta, and it officially being registered with the NFL. And like a specified amount of time ... after the NFL recognizes the signing, not after a verbal agreement is leaked to the media....? Do NFL contracts have a withdraw-the-offer/acceptance clause within a certain period of time?

I doubt that the Rams have done anything illegal.

But none of that should have anything to do with Gurley's money. Once the Rams cut him, the money was put in motion towards him. Somebody else signing him shouldn't have anything to do with it. Still, I read somewhere else the Rams said they were adhering to the terms of the contract. In other words, they're not late.

The "offset" part of contracts are usually contingent on the amount of the next contract.

At this point it seems as if the Rams are able to keep $2.5 of the $7.5 guarantee.

Rams GM Les Snead says on NFLN that Todd Gurley and Clay Matthews will get the money that's owed to them.

We can only hope they haven't had to get into a soup line yet!!!

Gurley and Matthews are still wrong about taking to social media but I still haven't heard why or if the team is actually late with the checks? If so, I don't blame someone for being pissed about not getting it when it was promised.
