the way I understood the situation was that Kroenke had an escape clause ... unless the City had in place a top-8 NFL stadium (not just a drawing of futuristic one).

So what is the most amount of "pocket change" will Kroenke lose? $16 mill plus attorney fees?

My guess is that Kroenke will double his money by holding on to it for as long as he can before the court orders him to refund the city ... that is, IF the court decides against him.

I think that the threat of Kroenke moving the team back to Los Angeles became real the day that Georgia died, and I don't think that the threat ever dissipated, not even for one day.

At least let us have Rams Park back so it can be given to a youth sports league or charity. Is that too much to ask?

Is there any indication that this is about Rams Park?

IIRC one part of the lawsuit asks to void the deal where Stan gets to buy Rams Park in 2025 for $1.

Seems like its more about the pound of flesh than Ram Park to me. St Loser might be fine with just Rams Park but others are not satisfied with that.

It's harder to have had and lost it, than to have never had it at all. This sitch, was a total gaffe by the local govs who let it get away.

I'm sure the "scorched earth" words hurt, but after what StL did (and didn't do) to keep the Rams (after originally lucking into them) must have a deeper level of pain..

I'll see what I can do. Still has the NFL shield and other markings. Curious they didn't clear stuff off.

Pisses me off though that they have a way too tattered American flag flying out front.

Since the Stan told the other owners any team that plays in St. Louis will be a financial disaster and permanently damage the league we also know there will never be pro football here ever again. If St. Louis had a chance at getting a replacement or stealing another team this lawsuit would have never left the discussion stages. But since Stan salted the earth what is there to lose?

(Right after this is where someone from LA replies with "dignity".)

the reality of this IS NOT from the fans ... rather it is from Luxury box revenue.... the corporate support never existed in St. Louis. If there was, Bill Bidwell would have never moved his team away.

Hence, the city was salted before the Rams moved to St. Louis.

the NFL started in 1920 ... thus nearly 100 years and FOUR NFL teams have come and gone.

When the Football Cardinals were here (35ish years?) they went to what 3 total playoff games?

During that timespan the Baseball Cardinals went to the World Series SIX times.
and the 35 years prior, the Baseball Cardinals went to the World Series NINE Times.
and the 30 years after the Arizona Cardinals left, the Baseball team has gone another FOUR more times.

so for nearly 100 years (with the exception of the GSOT) corporations have been inviting their business clients to come watch the St. Louis Football Losers? .... or rather ... did they invite their business clients to come watch the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals World Champions?

Something major has to change in St. Louis for an NFL team to be successful. Not even if Amazon HQ2 were to move to St. Louis there still wouldn't be enough support.
