yep, mcvay said that the patriots did a lot of different things in coverage vs what the rams watched them do against the bolts and chiefs, and he didn't have success adjusting.... i think that was pretty evident throughout the game, especially on 3rd downs, the rams didn't seem to have any idea what to call, or what would work.

All the talk about the Pats D was how they blitzed so much. And then they came out and played zone. Which was a huge switch, but then they were also getting to Goff without blitzing, which was a big effing problem

The Rams were missing their dog. Cooper Kupp.

In a game like this you needs dogs. We didn’t have one on offense.

Sadly, Gurley is no dog.

The Pats made Gurley a nonfactor, early. They had a much easier job then just taking away Woods and Cooks. And that was the ball game.

Reynolds and Everett were not ready for the big stage.

Sean McVay, barely 33 years old, took the Rams to the super bowl in 2 years. Then he was out coached and schooled by BB the GOAT! We all know how smart McVay is, I think he will watch this game a hundred times and learn huge lessons from this defeat. I'm looking forward to next year.

There are a lot of hot takes that for me, I am honestly confused over.

HC already admitted his failings publicly, so no surprise in that.

Much praise is lauded to Wade Phillips planning & the defense, even going so far as to claim with great confidence that had the offense functioned modestly better, the Rams would've won:

CAR YD AVG TD LONG
Sony Michel 18 94 5.2 1 26
Rex Burkhead 7 43 6.1 0 26

...Hasn't this been a /problem/ all season?

REC YDS AVG TD LONG TGTS
Julian Edelman 10 141 14.1 0 27 12
Rob Gronkowski 6 87 14.5 0 29 7

...These two never were accounted for through the entire game.

The defense played well through the playoffs. They did well limiting points on the board in this game. One can credit to Wade Phillips for designing a game plan that did its best to mask our weaknesses; I'm not sure I'd say it was a masterful performance.

I'm not even that mad bout it.

For all the hate, the cheating, BB is probably the greatest coach of all time. He figured out how to shut down our offense and we didn't have an answer. Look at what they did to the Chiefs for the first 3 quarters of the AFC Championship. Reid is no Jeff Fisher, Mahomes is the MVP.

It's not like i knew this was gonna happen but it was certainly one of the scenarios i thought was reasonable.

McVay is 33. I love our team, our HC and our future but today we were out coached...

I think that is the easy solution, but I think the Rams didnt execute well on the o-line. I dont know why they didnt use as much motion, but the pre-snap penalties and lack running space and pass protection was the issue.
