We have the price and….damn. I thought maybe they’d hold the line and then increase after year 2 or 3.



IIRC last year’s price that’s a $50 to $80 price increase. But you can also claim $250+ more as DirecTV was handing free subscriptions out like candy the last couple of years.

RIP….Pretty much exactly what expected. I will be looking for other avenues to catch games. Not paying $350 for football in June lol.

What did that take? An ".edu" email address?

It was somewhat more rigorous. In my case I had to scan his active student ID to prove that he was a student. What they did with that to actually verify, who knows, but in less than an hour they OK'ed it. $99/year for several years, went up to $129 a couple years ago.. pretty sweet.

I think that is the sign up by early June lol, maybe if they dont get many signups they will do that. I am also curious if they offer a deal on it in season, sounds like that is something that has been discussed. Interesting that they didnt announce a student discount, that is another avenue for me.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the price break you get for being a YouTube customer is likely the promotion. And it's easy to sign up, get started today!

I will be surprised if the student discount lives on. That was throwing a bone to people who could not mount a dish, i.e. they lived in a dorm. Aside from proving you were a student, you were only allowed to sign up for streaming-only before if you were in an area where a dish is a no-go - they really really wanted you to get the dish, sign up for DirecTV, etc. Now that it is all streaming - unlikely?
