He should remind us of his hero Joe, he is emulating him right down to the 16.

Which 25 yoa and under QB would you trade him for with his contract?

Just curious.

Lol. I guess you missed the part where I attributed these deficiencies to the root cause of his issues this season. They didn’t surface “much” last year as he wasn’t under as much duress. That said, are you confident that he won’t be under duress next year? And, if not, would you agree that IF the issues I laid out were in fact the problem and - as I also stated, correctable - that the must be corrected in order to improve under similar circumstances?

I love Goff. And I think he has what it takes to be a champion. But, I am not blind to the consistent areas of issue. Correct them, and he thrives under almost ANY circumstance. Don’t, and he needs a lot more help from the o line, run game, play calling to thrive - circa ‘17-18.

In closing, he literally missed by inches TWICE in the biggest game and that prevented him from being a champion. And not all of what went wrong we’re on him. But, sharpen that blade and he becomes that much more precise and deadly. Again, I’m almost any situation.

Isn’t that what we all hope from and for our QB?

As for the 49er game, IMO the game was lost when the Rams had a 4 point lead with 10 minutes left & the ball in 49er territory and couldn’t convert a 3rd and 1.
Championship teams finish that drive off with points. Terrible play calling there, as it has been all year in short yardage situations.

Goff is going to be our QB for the foreseeable future. On that point we all agree, I believe.

The debate seems to come down to how each of us feels about that prospect.

All I can say is...I feel good about it.

Here’s something to note...improved his numbers every year in college. He did the same in his first three years in the NFL. This was the first year when his numbers went down.

I think Goff is more dedicated and competitive then some realize. I’m betting his comes back next year with a vengeance.

So, in the end...I’m just not worried about our QB.

Steve Young? Joe Montana? I don't see any comparison to Goff by those two. Both of those guys were short, athletic QB's that thrived under pressure. Young was fiery while Montana was cool. Goff is a cross between Eli Manning and Jim Everett IMO.

Could be worse. At least he's not Sam Bradford. 8-)

Worse? Everett was a pro-bowler who led the league in passing TD's twice. Eli's put up some big numbers, never misses games and has won it all TWICE. It wasn't a putdown of Goff at all.

Everett, Eli and Goff are all tall, semi-athletic, pocket passers with good but not great arms. Streaky accuracy, good production, will kill you if all is right but all struggle a bit when pressure mounts.
