It was fine but now it’s crap.

Apropos of nothing ..

A lady spotted my Rams shirt and said she worked on the construction of Sofi. Said it was very unusual how low into the ground they built it and she felt that that contributed to the flooding delay. I said yeah there was a whole trumped-up flack about it interfering with planes.

It was all I could do to not go on at length about all the shady things the Carson supporting owners did ..

It seems like such a massive waste, this is only their 24th season playing in that stadium.

It seems like more thought needs to be put into future-proofing stadiums, brainstorming what top tier NFL game attendance experiences will be like not just today but in 30 years, and proactively installing accomodations for that. I'd like to think they did that with Sofi .. can you imagine Sofi being considered dated, we need to get the shiny new stadium, in 2050?

I'm not saying it's easy to do that, but it seems like it is not even being attempted. If you don't do that, you get situations like the Edward Jones dome going from "pretty good" when it opened to "extremely lagging, massive spend needed" in 10 years.

The problem is the bar is getting moved higher and higher and at some point it needs to stop. The problem is a lot of stadiums opened in the late 1990s and they'll be hitting their 30 year lease ends soon. Plus the owners see palaces like SoFi or Allegiant and get jealous.

The problem is Nissan Stadium is surrounded by junk yards, truck stops, shitty motels and warehouses. They want to use a new stadium to spur development to match what is across the river.

I don’t think we’ll have that issue in LA with indoor stadiums.

Just visited the still updating Crypto stadium (previously Staples center), the updates are legit.

As long as you have high ceilings and bring in quality architects, the new booth designs (kind of like mini mini suites for audiences) for Crypto are awesome and high end.

I don't think Nashville will get in to the standard Super Bowl rotation with LA, Arizona, Florida etc. Nashville will get their one prize and then be done.
1) there aren't enough hotels
2) February weather will be an issue

Nashville is exploding and is quickly becoming Nashville Junior with companies/people moving from Atlanta as no state income tax in Tennessee is a huge draw. They're also drawing tech as Oracle is building an HQ2 and Amazon is quickly ramping up presence.

But they're also painted themselves in a corner with highways and little public transport. Traffic is horrible and the Nashville drivers are more insane than LA. They'll soon be a twin of Austin.
