IIRC, they didn’t convert the 1st down and had to punt.
Now I’m 51 as well so I can’t remember what game that was even in. Lol. Was it the saints game too??

I’m with @aeneas1 on this. I think the “conspiracy” theory on Vinovich is hogwash. And I also agree that it’s ridiculous so much officiating is controlled by humans that could be replaced with modern technology. It’s a joke really.
Game is too fast and field is too big for these guys to be right all the time.

I feel like it was the Saints game or the following week, since I remember being heating by the refs not spotting the ball correctly multiple times in a short time span.

No disrespect intended, i merged the two thread since they both included good information about the same subject...

the whole thing is such nonsense... first, the rams are 2-10 in games vinovich has crewed, not 0-8, imo the cbs hack intentionally used the 2012-forward 0-8 window to make it look juicy, and it apparently worked, ha ha...

here's how teams have fared with vinovich crewing since 2004 - the blue column to the far right shows where these team rank in actual win percentage (win/loss records) for the 2004-2018 stretch... the rams rank 29th, is it really shocking that a crew's record for them would be shitty as well?

look at the saints, they rank 9th in win% for the 2004-2018, is it really shocking that a crew's record for them would be high?

Rams aren't playing the near uphill battle they were when the NFL was trying to kill football in St. Louis.

I think there were a number 2016 games where the refs hadn't quite gotten used to the idea of "OK they're out - no need to kill them anymore." And was still pretty bad.

2017-2018 it has been a lot better. But make no mistake there is still a TV-directed pecking order to the teams. We just happen to be beneath Brees vs Brady in the TV script preference here.

I don't understand this concept. Who wants to see 2 old guys go at it? And Brady? Other than Pats fans, who isn't sick of seeing the Pats and Brady in the SB??

So after Sunday Rams are 1-8 with this Sundays Ref. Still unusually bad but so were the Rams since '06.

the rams own the 29th worst record since 2004, since vinovich has crewed, only 3 teams are worse, but some seem to think the rams should be, what, .500 in games vinovich has crewed? funny stuff!

It's the "this could be their last hoorah" mentality. Frankly it's time to move on from Brady, but we can't as long as he keeps getting to the show. A good start is the rest of the AFCE needs to get better and make them play on the road more often in the PO's.

But yeah, most everyone I know is sick to death of the Patriots. A KC Rams or NE Rams scenario is more palatable for sure but Brees is that other "last horrah" QB. Sort of like LA and KC can wait another year til those other 2 fade off into the sunset.

Of course, what the public want's is irrelevant unless the outcomes of the games are being manipulated. That would be intollerable.
