As it was, I saw he was 5/8 on 3rd downs, with 4 first downs and a 4th down conversion on the 4th and 1. Throw in the HUGE 3rd and 7 RPO run, and he sure did a lot.
So that's 6 of 9 conversions. I'd say that's pretty good.
Will be interesting to see how NO plays us on D. Will they keep an extra lineman in the box now?

Oh, I agree that he played fine (and put two potential TD passes on the money that were not caught by Higbee and Cooks). Just not a prolific game like we've seen from him in other games.

Really glad CJ is in the mix for round 2 with NO. A big play or two from STs would be most welcome. Gotta a good feeling about this one.

I think a turnover or 2 from the special teams is going to be a necessity to win this game.

New Orleans just have too many weapons. Against an average team like Dallas Wade's plan was to stop Elliott which he did and then dare the likes of Gallup/Dakota/Cooper to beat us. Did ya'll see how many times their receivers caught the ball WIDE OPEN. Banking on that worked because Dakota isn't that good. Now we face Brees. So what to do?

Focus on their passing game and they run with Kamara. Focus on that and we get torched by Thomas and Co. Pick you poison and make it a shootout I guess but the our offense has to be humming. We will need 35-40 pts to win this. Anything less just won't cut it. Jared has to be pre-bye Jared. Nothing less will do. They have an aggressive coach who can go Cojones to Cojones with Sean. Special teams and defensive take aways are pretty much a must for us in that damn dome.

I sooooo wished we didn't lose that Bears game so we could face them in LA. Whole other story with Bress and co in the wide open spaces of the Coliseum. But it is what it is now.

I have little to no confidence in our pass rush and secondary. I have little to no confidence in Wade Phillips. Zero confidence in Marcus Peters to not get absolutely torched.
What i do hope the coaches do is adopt the "nobody belives in us" mantra. Use the doubters and their words to motivate the players. Especially the defensive players. Tell them again and again how people like me are doubting them. Perhaps if our guys just want it more than them they can elevate their play to the desired levels.

I don't know............ i said after we lost in the dome that i don't like our chances if we have to come back and home field was paramount. I still haven't seen anything to make me confident about this game.

Good lord. What a downer.

Not one positive thing to say in that wordy post?

Its pretty clear to me. You have some little, but mostly no confidence in this game and a wish that didn't come true.

You may belong more over at the draft boards now. :lol2:

Yeah, no.

Negative peeps are impossible for me to have a balanced discussion with.

Please look at it as my fault, not yours.

Ya I thought so.

Make one post that doesn't agree with your opinion (current mood to be exact) and all of a sudden I am a negative peep regardless of my hundreds of other posts on this board.

Got it.

Enjoy having those "balanced discussions" I see you having all over this board for months now. Lol. Since you so kindly gave me re-location advice i'll return the favor and suggest that perhaps you belong on a cheer leaders board where the Rams are the perfect team and life is all about pom poms and parades.

And, while Jared Goff didn't play badly, in my opinion, he certainly did not play "extremely well," and was not the driving force behind the offense.

My point is... there are many ways to win a game, and the Rams just showed us that they can do it the old fashioned way.

Yup. I thought Goff needed to play very well to beat Dallas. But McVay showed me he’s better than I thought. That guy is brilliant.

But now we are playing in NO against a high scoring offense. I don’t think solid QB play will get us a win in the Superdome.

On that point, we agree 100%.

I agree that Goff will probably have to do a bit more next week to get us to the big game. He played well last time out against the Saints, so I'm hopeful.

What did the Eagles do that we can't? Nothin, IMO. What can we do that the Eagles couldn't? Score a lot of points and run the ball. We go in healthy and the Saints are missing their best interior D-lineman. That could loom large in both the run game and in pass pro.
