Just asking. My understanding of the big advantage of this is that 1090 can be heard all the way up to Santa Barbara and who knows how far east. So it not only includes SD but increases the range of the broadcasts every direction. Is that the case?

When I lived in SD it was the Coryell Chargers days and you could not get anything on the Rams unless you had cable and got LA stations. What a huge difference.

You're correct. The stations signal and reach is much stronger than the other local sports talk stations (710 am, 570 am, and 830 am). Also, duing the week they'll be talking about the Rams more than the Rams flagship station (710 am).

Yeah, the L.A. stations talk a lot of Lakers and Dodgers, not a lot of Rams content at all.

SD has no NBA (for all intents and purposes, no MLB either), plus 1090 is clearly trolling the Chargers with this move so we can expect a ton of Rams coverage, and they're good at it. Their Chargers coverage was always good...

That's what I had heard. This looks like the Rams taking advantage of an opportunity. Obviously they couldn't make a deal with 1090 when the Chargers were in SD, and now it just sounds like they seized the opportunity. If that's the case they're not only trying to reach Rams fans in SD (of which I was once one, many years ago) but also reaching further north and east too.

I have to admit I don't like 710 much. Does anyone know anything about 1090? Are they better than 710? I also assume without having looked that nomads like me (guys not in so. cal.) can get 1090 podcasts online. If they are better quality than 710, that's a big advantage for us "direct tv/getting stuff online" nomad Rams fans.

And how far into Mexico? Stan is going all out!

Being a season ticket holder I wouldn't mind a preseason game in San Diego and/or Mexico.

I can't stand ESPN710, Keyshawn Johnson is a bum... What he said about Jared Goff, and how he defended Jeff Fisher and said that wasn't his pick.. Fuck him and that station.

And if I had started with the first page of the thread my question was already answered. :D

I also see from (finally) reading the whole thread that 1090 is known for good football coverage, at least when they did the Chargers.

Oh god yes!!!!

That is what I am hoping for.

You have no idea. I spent years and years going to STL, spending my holidays, my money to go see a team I love play who won, what, sometimes two fucking games a year? I was ridiculed.

To NOW have MY team take over my fucking HOME town????

This is like a heroin dream. Love it!!!!
