HOPES:

Provides an immediate answer.

Helps to assuage any possible locker room murmurings by veterans.
(There's not been any evidence there has been.)

Culture: Demonstrates to younger elements of team, office is being proactive.

Offensive game planning will be less of a challenge, as drop off in position is now less.
(He just fits the Rams offensive concepts better!)

WORRIES:

Will the immediate answer, with what is left of this season, be effective on the field.

The past. It's a business, ppl will say, of course. Still, the drama surrounding who picked who was intense; it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that some shred of that lingers.
(Note: Could be a positive as motivation for Wentz to excel.)

If the offensive coaching continues to be seen as languished, how does spending additional capital now, overcome superior game planning/coaching?

It is hard to believe how much the offense has struggled especially of late (not referring to Green Bay game). You have supposedly 2-3 very good WR's including a ROY. Hopefully Sean can come up with some answers during the break. The o-line needs to play better is pass pro and the WR's need to win more IMO.

I think the Rams had to add Wentz, the Rams couldnt go out there with Ryp week in week out, they would lose the team. Wentz is broken but so was Baker, so lets see if he can do it again. The good thing is it sounds like Staff will be back and Wentz can learn in the background. The dude is still a physical specimen, just need to clean up above the neck...

The loss of Havs is one of the biggest issues. He is adept at run and pass blocking. His loss has shuffled the OL making the right side weak. Noteboom is ok as an OL. His best attribute is position versatility. Yet, Jack of all trades - master of none. Our best 5 are
A Jax/Avila/Shelton/Boom/Havs

Future: move on from Boom and have A Jax assume that utility role, upgrade in FA/Draft LT, C, RG. (Tall task I know). A Jax, Shelton, Dotson as backups. Keep Bruss and Anchrum, Thomas, Arcuri as depth and let them compete. Release/Trade Allen.

The OL, even more than edge, needs to be seriously improved with a 35 year old, pocket QB. The Rams know this (Avila pick) and I am sure are targeting a number of OL this off season.

Wentz and especially Staff will benefit when the original 5 are back in the lineup, am starting with Seattle after the bye.

I hope Wentz sees the field a lot late in games for mop up work. 8-)

Nobody signed him through the first half of the season despite a bunch of teams losing QBs. He should know, he may not get another shot, so there's that and it should be motivating.

We don't know much about the T from Georgia either. It's wouldn't be unusual to see him develop.

I agree when Hav gets back the kine will be stronger. When will that be, vs Seattle?

How about Kyren? I like the way Freeman is running and hopefully, they sprinkle Evans in some too. Will we see Gaskin?

For sure. T. J. Houshmandzadeh was speaking to this on Colin radio show. It humbles you pretty quick sitting on the couch. Maybe this was all for the best and he is more hungry for the opp.

I think Drake Maye is a beast possible best prospect in the draft. Looks like another Stafford 6-4 229. Would be great to have him on the Rams. He has that Andrew Luck mobility.

As for this team we’ll win a couple more games. It’s all mute Cause Stafford and Williams are coming back after the bye.

I think Notebloom is a great tackle. He did a tremendous game at left tackle protecting Stafford in that playoff game against Tampa Bay filling in for Whitworth.

Im not expecting Kurt Warner 2.0 outa Wentz kind of ironic that his whole career turned around against this team he played against that he’s signing with now.

Gaskin was cut.

Havs and Jones are back for Seattle, Kyren a week later.

The o-line needs to be upgraded and Havs is getting pretty long in the tooth. But either through free agency or draft, they need another stud or two at edge. It would radically improve the defense...
