The Rams beat the Eagles 20-7 in 2004 on a Monday Night (in St. Louis) and 37-19 in 2020. We've lost 0 straight. McVay is 1-2. Since losing 14-0 in 1949, we're 2-0 vs Philly in the postseason. I remember them both. The 2001 Conference Championship Game (in St.L) and the 1989 Wild Card Game (in Philly). The latter was played in a misty rain. We went up early 14-0 on a nice catch by Henry Ellard (the other TD was Damone Johnson, IIRC) and then handed the ball to Greg Bell for the remainder of the game. Fritz Shurmer employed the "Eagle defense" (based on a decades old Eagle defense) of 4 LBs and 7 DBs to throttle Randall Cunningham.

4.5 point favorites as the visiting team is quite a bit. The Rams could win this game but they likely need some breaks. A pick 6 and another turnover should do assuming they play cleanly themselves.

On a bookie pool the Rams are getting 6 as are the Vikings. Arizona is getting 4 and Pittsburgh 3. I won't touch that last one but the other 3 look interesting.

Here's CBS:
Top Week 5 NFL predictions
One of the model's strongest Week 5 NFL picks is that the Eagles (-4.5) cover against the Rams. These teams are next to each other in defensive rankings, as Los Angeles ranks 15th in scoring defense, while Philadelphia ranks 16th. The difference between the two lies on the offensive end, where the Eagles are top-five in points per game, while the Rams are a middling 13th.

Behind Matthew Stafford's arm, the Rams lead the NFL in pass attempts and rank second in passing yards. However, that high volume hasn't lent itself to efficiency where it matters the most since just two teams have fewer passing touchdowns than L.A. That inefficient offense is paired with a defense that doesn't generate extra possessions. The Rams have the second-fewest takeaways in the league with two, while the Eagles have forced eight turnovers in 2023. With the gaps in between the two on offense and in turnover differential, the model has Philadelphia covering in well over 50% of simulations. See which other teams to pick here.

Another one of its Week 5 NFL predictions: The Patriots (-1.5) cover the spread at home versus the Saints. Mac Jones and Derek Carr have underperformed this year, but at least Jones doesn't have more turnovers than touchdowns, unlike Carr. The former Raider hasn't thrown more than one touchdown in each of his last five starts and is dealing with a shoulder injury that's held him under 130 passing yards in each of his last two starts. He's also been a sitting duck in the pocket and has been sacked the fifth-most times despite ranking 20th in dropbacks.

New England fields one of just three units that ranks in the top 10 against the run and pass. With Carr and the Saints' passing offense already shooting itself in the foot, the Patriots can load up against New Orleans' run game, which has its own struggles. The team ranks in the bottom 10 in both rushing yards and yards per carry, while New Orleans finished with just 70 yards on the ground in Alvin Kamara's Week 4 return. Add in the fact that the Saints have not covered in a single game this season and New England (-1.5) is projected to cover well over 50% of the time. The model also says the Under (39) hits in well over 50% of simulations. See which other teams to pick here.

On that red highlighted sentence, only 3 teams have more rushing TDs than the Rams (6). Baltimore (8), San Francisco (9) and Miami (10). The Rams are tied with Buffalo and Detroit.

Here are the top 16 TD scoring teams:

Miami 20 (10 P; 10 R)
Buffalo 15 (9 P; 6 R)
San Fran 14 (5 P; 9 R)
Chargers 13 (8 P; 3 R)
Detroit 12 (6 P; 6 R)
Baltimore 12 (4 P; 8 R)
Kansas City 11 (8 P; 3 R)
Green Bay 11 (8 P; 3 R)
Minnesota 11 (11 P; 0 R)
Indy 10 (5 P; 5 R)
Seattle 10 (5 P; 5 R)
Philly 10 (5 P; 5 R)
Denver 10 (9 P; 1 R)
Rams 9 (3 P; 6 R)
Washington 9 (4 P; 5 R)
Chicago 9 (7 P; 2 R)

The Rams will win

Because the Eagles secondary are trash. Darius slay is overatted. Bradbury is alright.

They can’t stay with our receivers Cooper Kupp Tutu Atwell and Puka Nakua

Who’s gonna cover them on Philly? Now the line might be an issue but if they can keep Stafford upright we should be able to score relatively easy.

Now defense that’s a different story. I think this is one of those rare Rams games and Rams win 38-34.

I apologize. I misread it. You are right. My eyes are going bad on me.

My two cents, I expect a game quite similar to the SF one: the Rams keep it very interesting for 3 quarters and then get overwhelmed by talent gap. Final score makes the people who aren't paying attention think ho hum, this is what we expected, Eagles good Rams bad, sky blue.

I think i have this backwards. If anything, spread going down, 4 in some places now, money coming in on Rams.

This might be more where people are at on the Rams:
