The Rams believe they are still in their SB window. Why would they trade/release Ramsey/Floyd? The ONLY reason is cap and the players being unwilling to restructure. The future at MLB is Jones. That future is now. Wags release is a cap only move. The other 2 factor into immediate winning plan. Floyd perhaps a little less so but not much.

If they play the comp pick game and release those 2 players, then they were stuck cap wise and ya. We go from remodel to starting over. I would bet AD hangs them up if they lose Ramsey and Floyd. And that sucks because in a trade, AD could net you a boatload of capital.

So, if they are blowing things up
Trade AD to The Steelers, Ramsey to the Chiefs, Floyd to Philly. Or trade them all to shitty teams with top of the round draft choices.

Man I hope none of that happens.

Last season it was Woody. Now it's Bobby Wagner. Woods was my man at USC. Wagner from 3/4 mile down the road at Colony High. I'm really getting fed up with the Rams these days. This is a team that seems to have little loyalty or direction. Next season will be "interesting" to say the least. I look for hard times.

It’s looking like Ramsey and Floyd are on deck. I could even see Woods back and Allen Robinson gone. I can’t believe they were impressed with that showing. If Ramsey goes they are clearing the decks and it will all lk different after the draft. We’ll see

Gents, this was Wagner's idea not the Rams IMO. The Rams dont really help their cap by this move. This is Wagner wanting to play for what he believe is an easier path somehow. It is disappointing that Wagner feels this way but its one opinion. The Rams will lose some free agents for sure, but I also think they will sign a couple. I think Gaines stays with the Rams.

So now that NFL.Com is saying a Ramsey trade is imminent, I am wondering a few things.

A. Clearly the cap sitch is driving this and the option of restructure is either not on the table from the Rams or has been shot down by the key player(s)

B. The Rams probably feel pretty confident in the youngsters, have a good idea of who they can get in the draft and FA to add to the group.

C. This is the big one for me; perhaps the MCV way and mantra and vibe has worn thin on certain vets and the Rams need an infusion of younger talent and/or new talent who haven’t heard his message over and over. Players who will be more motivated to respond to the McVay Way.

How can you be so sure this is Bobby's idea? If it was there's a reason because he's a Socal guy through and through.

Understood, but he wants to win during his final years and appears to want a more sure thing. From what I heard he approached the Rams about this first.I just dont see a big cap savings for the Rams.

I don’t give rat’s backside (personally) if a player is from Cali or Timbuktu, I want the team to build a roster that can win EVERY year. Wagner was good but we have Earnest Jones inside and he is not really needed. Makes sense to let him move on. If we trade Ramsey I want to see significant draft capital in return. If not, keep him.
