I'm going from memory but last year, fivethirtyeight.com put the Rams at 3% chance to win the Super Bowl after no-win November. Today it is 0.8%. Both measurements seem extremely reasonable to me. Is it bailing to say that out loud? Is it unwelcome to say so here? I'm not so sure sometimes.

I don't know what it means to you but in sports fandom it means giving up, throwing in the towel. It doesn't mean stop watching. After all if someone bails they're going to want watch to know whether they can say "see what I mean?" or just read and not post.

Anybody can say anything they want here. But it's a discussion board. If someone doesn't want their opinions discussed, debated or criticized start a blog.

Funny how someone will bail and get upset they get flak but turn around and accuse everybody who disagrees with them as practicing blind faith.

What was really fantastic about that play is a) that he didn't even think to hold the guy knowing that it'd probably lead to disaster and that holding is better than a blocked punt, and b) after his guy flew through he immediately turns upfield looking to block someone else. Just fantastically, cosmically inept.

Even though he's injured / benched right now, I miss Jake McQuaid. He had a lot of reps.

At this rate we better start looking for Dixons back up.
Damn good pass though, and under pressure. Brilliant. The call that deep on our side of the field, not so much. But I'm sure 'Bones' liked it.

PARAM wrote:Bullshit!!! You gave up after the 3 game losing streak!!! Come on man, own it!

I never "gave up". I adjusted to the reality of where they were after the 3 game losing streak. I still went to home games, watched the rest and "died" with every miscue. This really isn't as binary as you make it out to be. If it was any other team doing what the Rams were doing you'd have been laughing at them. I was just preparing myself for what I thought was inevidable...and venting as a means toward that end.

The only thing I really know for sure is that this season would be positively horrifying if they were coming off of losing the SB due to injuries and bogus facemask.

It would really have been 2002 all over again, a lot of self-satisfied people who were rooting for the Rams to fall on their face, happy for the scrappy underdog, etc.

As it is, it just kind of frustrating .. some perspective may be helpful ..

The situation we're in is cause for alarm and consternation. We fans need to stick together and use our heads as our hearts are getting ripped out.
I'm hoping for the best.

Save it for church, man. I've thrown all my RAMS gear into my RAMS wastepaper can and placed the can in the front yard awaiting my RAMS Tiki Torch to light the whole thing ablaze.

But, wait, there still is 12 games to go...and even if the season is a bomb, someday they will rise again...plus replacing all this stuff would be expensive...and I've had the RAMS wastepaper can since 1976 or so and I just can't destroy something that has been next to my bed for decades.

Okay, I'm fully on board with Hacksaw...

I have a weekly post after each game. So far, almost completely negative. No one is in my ass. And I too think the season might just be lost. That is IF, they don’t make some schematic changes, get Allen and Van Jeff back. Note; I think, THINK we can run most of our offense with Boom, Evans, Allen, A Ajax, Hav. But, I also believe that we will not be able to run it against the really good front 7s and especially agains really good front 4s and 5s. We face a number of good defensive fronts the rest of the way. Running the ball had become job 1, IMO. That should be 95% of McVs focus. And he will probably need to get away from true 11 personnel a lot more to do this.

Yeah I have to agree with you whole heartily. We don't have the horses up front nor are some of the skilled players able to balance it out. McV has to get more creative and prove he's the genius many thought he was / think he is.
12P, I formations should help protections but you're spot on,, we NEED OBJ and/or VJ back in the mix. Gotta give Staff 1 more safe tick to throw comfortably and we need to run the crap out of Tutu.

74, dont worry about that. Just be cool with others. Not saying your not but the team is fair game. We all have different takes and no ones is better than another's. Easier to be a fan of a winner. Its really all food for thought.
