Would have been a nice angle to have at that moment. On the tube, it looked like a high probability of a completion.

It was a great moment. Rams fans were making noise. Beengals fans went deafeningly quiet at the same moment. They really thought they had it. Joe "Cool" wasn't cool enough.

Here is a screenshot from an angle that shows better how far the ball was from Perine when it hit the ground. As you can see, he is already reacting to the ball, but its way too far away for him to make a play:

And the fact that an ILB peeled off his zone assignment to snatch a much quicker player on the fastest developing inside route there is, AND make the sure tackle…securing the Cinderella ending to the Cinderella season and the FIRST Super Bowl win in Rams history. He wasn’t EXPECTED to make a play. Donald was counted upon to do so. Granted he did and frankly, you could couple that play with how he ended the NFCC game essentially the same way, and that buoys your argument. But, the elation I felt in 99 was just a bit greater than back in Feb.

Both Rams super bowl wins ended on a clutch defensive play. They're both great plays. Anyone who favors one over the other, it's understandable. There's room for personal favorites.

I was thinking that same thing earlier today. Both classic defining plays . AD is better known than Jones but Jones's tackle was in a way more spectacular since it was on the goal line.
Both amazing iconic finishes.

I actually have an actual, authenticated autographed picture of the tackle. My daughter and his wife got it for me one birthday years ago.
