Agree.

To my mind, Cooper Kupp is the quintessential McVay pick. All the talk during that draft was about how pro-ready Kupp was (and his bloodlines, too) and how he ran precise routes. Seems like this draft is trying to replicate that wherever possible. Just my $.02

Dick84 wrote:Another thing about the whole "Fire Les" thing... well.. he's drafting differently, in case you hadn't noticed, under McVay. They really like fully developed, mature, professional players.
Example.. under Fisher they went big for the "potential" of Brian Quick. This draft? There were "potential" guys like Mims and a few others.. and they went with Jefferson. Less flashy, incredibly competent and mature. Hopkins? Another former player's son who is mature and developed.
Cam Akers? One of the things consistently cited is his maturity.
Lewis has a lot of those same qualities.. but comes with the injury risk factor. Burgess is praised for his character and football smarts.
Jordan Fuller is another high character guy.

One thing we should be reading here.. the Rams want a good locker room.

Don't get me wrong, I respect you. You have some great posts. But you seem a bit high strung in your recent replies. Maybe it's cabin fever 8-)

I wasn't trying to belittle him. I certainly wasn't go to compliment him. Not on those posts. It would have probably been better had I just ignored the thread.

I'm sorry man. Maybe I just took you wrong and should have minded my own business.

You put something on a football forum, it's everybody's business. :D The thing about the draft, particularly getting upset with late round picks is....we're not the 2015 Rams. We don't need 5 starters. Hell we don't even need all these guys to make the 53. If they look decent and don't make the 53, maybe they are on the PS....or maybe another team in more dire need picks them up.

Are all old posts on this forum still accessible? It would be fun to read all of the draft day talk from the last ten years...lol

I agree Utahram.

Who wanted Goff?

What about all those picks we got for RG3?

here is the thing, based on this draft the Rams feel comfortable in two things:

1. The offensive line
2. The defense as a whole

I can understand why the Rams opted to not add more to the offensive line as they have invested several picks into the position over the last few drafts and signed Whit and Blythe.
I disagree about the lack of defensive players drafted.

While I think the Rams added nice offensive talent at RB, WR and TE, I do think they are a bit of a luxury at this point. The WR, TE and S picks seem to be for protection for 2021, if key players arent signed. I would have rather drafted more help beyond just Lewis to fix the lack of pass rush and lingering run stopping ability by the defense.

Bottom line, I didnt think there was anything really wrong with the offense last year beyond o-line issues. I believe Goff, Hendu, Brown, Woods, Kupp, Reynolds, Higs and Everett could do plenty of damage. I do understand adding to the RB room.

If the Rams are right about the offense line and defense as a whole, than this was the way to draft for 2020 and beyond. If the o-line struggles (Rams were wrong last year)and/or the defense struggles then Snead/McVay are open for criticism for sure.
