AltiTude Ram wrote:I think 2 positions that get overlooked are safety and kicker.

I don't see them picking either early but both positions are a need.

After JJ and Rapp the Rams have nothing for a 3rd safety.

Again, not thinking they pick either position early but both are still needs.

I think you're right.

Most Ram fans list their needs, based off their own opinion of who we have and their opinion of what they think the staff thinks about the players we have. On the latter we really have no clue.

OL is a primary need! Really?
EDGE is a primary need! Maybe, maybe not.
ILB? Possibly

In my opinion because we got rid of Cooks, we are in need of a WR. Maybe not top of the class WR but a WR. But McVay is an offensive guru and I don't think he want's a 6th or 7th round WR.

In my opinion because we got rid of Gurley, we are in need of another RB. Same theory as I gave about WRs.

I'd list our needs in this order:

RB
WR
C
S
ILB
Edge
PK....though having none at the present time that's gotta be our #1 need but we won't spend a day 2 pick on one.

That being said, that's probably not the order they will get picked but I feel pretty safe to think they will get picked.

Canuck, as for Noteboom I give him a pass til now. Granted that doesn't mean he "is our guy" for LT, but I still think he is very much in the running for that title, IF he can regain full health.
For sure, it's gonna get reaaaaally interesting over this next month! :shock2:

Noteboom played 5 games. How can we make a comprehensive evaluation based on that? I'm not saying he's good. I'm not saying he's terrible. But I don't think 5 games is enough of a sample size to make a definitive rock solid evaluation. And that's at OG. He's an OT.

PA.....I don't wanna argue.....it's Easter Sunday. :!2:

PFF used Noteboom's 5 games, and gave him a 2019 rating, right?

Now atop that meagre score, Noteboom now carries the InjuryProne label.
Things like the above affect Player Value.

Here's a thought....get those brilliant Ram IT guys to throw together a Joe Noteboom HiLite package and send it to Bill ReclamationGenius O'Brien, who is the HC for the TEXANS...….Joe Noteboom's home state!!! ;) :arrow2: :lol2:

I close by focussing on our past Rams OL agreement (there were so few! :lol2: )
IE.
Thank goodness McSnead re-signed Andrew Whitworth, eh buddy!!! ;)

The problem with Noteboom, we still don't know what we have in him. By all accounts, he's a talented lineman. But it sure seemed like playing guard was not his forte in the limited sample size. I have to wonder if tackle is better for him. But its not like we could afford to put him there and cross our fingers. They had to bring Big Whit back for one more season. To many unanswered questions for that position if they didn't.

I'm not arguing. I'm simply making what I think is a pretty good point. 5 games to judge the kid on? That seems a bit unfair. As far as PFF, they are a great source of information but that information should only be a small part of evaluating a player. They are not "the definitive source" for all things NFL.

As far as the "injury prone" label, I always thought that to be applied when somebody has multiple injuries.....always getting injured......ergo, "injury prone". Otherwise, practically everybody in the NFL is "injury prone".

Again not arguing. We can discuss and even disagree cordially on Easter or any other day.

Rams are going to draft Gurleys replacment, Cooks replacement, LIttletons replacement and Zuerleins replacement.
Suspect pick 52 will be the BPA at either WR, RB, Edge, or CB. Skill positions, a player that drops for whatever reason. Happens every year.
Pick 57 to be shopped for a trade down, pick up another 5th at least, maybe a drop into the top of round 3 for a 4 and 6.
Who the Rams draft, have no idea, but see an OL or 2, 2 ILB, CB, RB, WR, Edge, K.
Do not see any drafted starters that need to start day 1, but the ILB will have the best chance to start opening day as that spot is probably the weakest on the roster.

I do have high hopes IF they draft an OL, it'll be a C as a good one should be available in the 3rd round. We've got plenty of tackles for when Whitworth retires......Havenstein, Evans, Noteboom, Edwards, etc.

I'm not even sure EDGE and OL are high on their list. They have to get another RB and WR. It's pretty simple. Kupp goes down again and that leaves Woods and Reynolds. :idea2: :idea2: :idea2: :idea2: Brown or Henderson go down and that leaves the other and Kelly. :idea2: :idea2: :idea2: :idea2: :idea2:

And 1 other thing. I think their days of giving up first round picks for players, midseason is a thing of the past. Their next one is in 2022 and carries much less value than "next year's pick".

Good logical Rams 2020 Draft scenario by pmill66 IMHO. :idea2:

I too think they will stand pat at #52 and see what BPA stud falls to them.

Finally......the OL Ram picks should be Interior OL......where we are weakest right now. Additionally, as Pennsylvania says....."we're up to our butt-holes in OT Yutes".....or words to that effect. :lol2:

Happy Easter to all!!
