POST #39 TOPIC AUTHOR Boston GlobeFOXBOROUGH — Titans coach Mike Vrabel pulled a trick right out of Bill Belichick’s playbook in the fourth quarter when he employed a loophole that allowed the Titans to burn 1:55 off the clock and make his former coach livid while doing it.The loophole involves intentionally drawing penalties while the clock is running, which means the clock will remain running after the penalty is enforced. It can only be done in the first 10 minutes of a quarter. If it sounds familiar, that’s because it is: Belichick used the same strategy against the Jets in October, drawing delay-of-game and false-start penalties that Adam Gase kept declining. The maneuver tickled Belichick so much, he even cracked a smile on the sideline. This time, Belichick was seething. He was caught on camera ripping off some expletives in the ear of an official. The Titans committed two 5-yard penalties — delay of game and false start — before the Patriots committed one of their own (neutral zone infraction). POST #37 PARAM liked this post More games today but I won't be watching. I'll be out on the golf course. Its been in the 60's around here with sun after a little morning fog. I think I'll take advantage of the nice weather since the Rams aren't playing anymore. If the Rams were playing I'd be telling my golf partners not today. But alas, wasn't meant to be. Golf is a nice consolation. If only I didn't suck at it. 1 by PARAM 5 years 6 months ago Total posts: 13221 Joined: Jul 15 2015 Just far enough North of Philadelphia Hall of Fame So can we talk about the playoffs yet? Both should be interesting games. Can anyone stop Lamar Jackson? Eventually someone will. What I can't wait to find out is who's going to Green Bay? It forecast to be 25 Saturday afternoon and 21 Saturday night. 32 Sunday afternoon and 28 on Sunday night with a chance of snow showers. I can see the Saints going there, taking a loss and Saints fans filing suit demanding that any playoff games played north of the Mason/Dixon line be played in a dome! Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there. The Titans’ Brett Kern finally punted the ball away with 4:51 left in the game.I was laughing my arse off as Belichick screamed at the official on the sideline. Kudos to Vrabel to know the rulebook and the Patriots way. Been following the horns since the Coliseum had a Roman playing there.
