I was listening to Sirius Radio this morning.

They asked NRC about having death threats after the no call.

Seriously, no reason to take a missed call to that level. I hope they investigate/find and punish anybody making threats. :evil2:

Rams CB says he’s received death threats since missed PI call

A week after the fact, the missed call in the NFC Championship Game continues to be on the forefront of the minds of fans in New Orleans as they await a public statement from the league.

Since the game, the player responsible for the hit has been making a few statements of his own. Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman admitted that he was guilty of pass interference against Saints wide receiver Tommylee Lewis, and also that some angry fans have expressed their anger towards him.

Robey-Coleman says he has received over 3,000 messages on Instagram, a thousand more on Facebook, and 500 on Snapchat, telling Bleacher Report that some were death threats.

One person promised to “fu-k you up” at the airport.

Another said the player should leave town or he “might not see tomorrow.”
“We out played them. We out schemed them. And we out coached them,” Robey-Coleman said.

“The Saints need to hold themselves accountable. They did not play championship football. Their numbers were low. Michael Thomas had 36 yards receiving. They had 50 yards rushing. They didn’t capitalize on the turnovers we made early. We capitalized on the breaks we got at the end.”

Robey-Coleman was a subject of some interest at Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday, partly because of that hit in the NFC title bout and also because the player has stated that he believes age may have taken a toll on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who he will line up against in Super Bowl LIII on Sunday night.

But for those on New Orleans, the cornerback will go down in history as having gotten away with the most obvious case of pass interference in NFL history, depriving the Saints a Super Bowl berth.

While the National Football League is yet to make an official statement about the missed call, representatives from the league office have admitted privately to head coach Sean Payton and Saints owner Gayle Benson that the call should have been made, and admitted to a mistaken missed call in response to a lawsuit filed by Saints season ticket holders.

“The NFL parties do not dispute that they have previously advised the Saints, including the club’s head coach, that one or more penalties, for pass interference or illegal helmet to helmet contact, were mistakenly not called in the NFC Championship Game, and that the NFL would like its officials on the field to make these calls,” that statement read in part.
“This was acknowledged immediately after the game to the coach of the New Orleans Saints by NFL Senior Vice President of Officiating Al Riveron.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported last week that multiple league executives admitted to Payton that a mistake was made, but that it was the coach who reached out to the NFL, not they to him and that, “[the] NFL felt the explanation that Riveron offered Payton was sufficient.”

The Saints will miss out on playing in this year’s Super Bowl game, but odds makers have already singled the team out as contenders for next year’s prize, listing New Orleans at 10/1 to win Super Bowl LIV, the third best among NFL teams.

Will the Saints concede their 2009 SuperBowl when they, the refs and the league screwed the Vikings? Payton only in the league because they gave him a “get out of jail free card” for Bounty Gate.

Saints fans deserve just what they are getting. And nobody outside of NO LA really gives a darn.

So annoying. The nations worst fan base.

This is what happens when you develop an entitlement society.

I thought Roger Goodell handled the topic very well today.

And, you know what... "Who Dat" is a moronic, illiterate-sounding, catch phrase. I get it... you embrace Cajun dialect as part of the local culture, but it doesn't change the fact that it sounds stupid!

There, I said it.
