Good news is I think we are pretty good at most other spots. This is a very fixable team. But probably will take the off-season. If this line can just stay healthy, I do think their worst games are behind them this season.

So that interview alone tells me Whit knew the guard position was weak.

Or that he knew Trent Williams was a better LT than him.
You think Whitworth, Walter Payton Man of the Year would throw his team mates, Edwards and Corbett under the bus? I just can't imagine Whit saying, "hey our guards suck, so I'd gladly move to OG if we obtained Trent Williams"

The bottom line is that the Rams have to go as far they can with what they got this year. And it’s highly unlikely that is very far if at all in the post season. Then they have to redo the OL, upgrade edge and possibly RB, replace losses in FA, especially at safety, upgrade 1-2 WR and all within their financial structure/business model. Some of this will be done from within. The from outside part is a massive challenge. But doable - so we are back in real contention in ‘23/24.

Like I have posted before, I recognize & acknowledge all the smarts McSnead possess, and moreover the success they have brought to longsuffering Ramsnation types like us....
BUT, that does not mean they are infallible.
AND, it is not a sin, nor a vice, for attentive Rams fans to point out same.

The really perplexing thing to me with McSnead's Ram OL thought process in 2022 was this:
They were both here in 2019, when they let Saffolf&Sullivan walk, replaced them with in-house backups Noteboom&Allen, and sat holding a sack of shit, as we missed the 2019 Playoffs. :idea2:

Now in 2022, the same two guys, Snead&McVay, lose Whitworth&Corbett, whom BTW...Andrew FutureHOFer Whitworth is a superior talent to Rodger Saffold, and Austin 2018Draft#33PickOverall Corbett's talent level garnered a 3year. $28 MIl deal from Carolina....something journeyman John Sullivan never ever saw.
So, in 2019, McSnead lose two steady-eddy OL vets Saff&Sully, replace the departed vet starters with in-house backups, and miss the Playoffs.....
then this year, 2022, they lose two stronger & more studly OL vets Whit&Corbs.....
AND AGAIN REPLACE THE 2 DEPARTED OL STUDS WITH IN-HOUSE BACKUPS???!!! :roll2: :arrow2: :?

There's a French phrase for the above, that some will know: "Deja vu" :idea2:
I was thinking more like....
"Deja merdez le meme lit pour encore une fois!" :idea2: :arrow2: :x

Clearly McSnead did NOT follow "Paul Bear Bryant's 3 Rules On Mistakes" which are:
1. Admit it.
2. Learn from it.
3. DO NOT REPEAT IT. :?

Like another smart poster already reminded us, the 2021 Ram OL, with Whit & Corbs on it, had so much trouble rush-blocking that an exasperated Sean McVay totally gave up on running the ball, on National TV. :idea2:
So, was the 2022 Ram OL, WITHOUT Whit&Corbs, and with weaker Noteboom& Shelton inserted....
those guys were NOW suddenly going to unlock the secrets of effective NFLRushBlockingConcepts 7 months later? :? :arrow2: :?2:
Really?
How? Pixie dust??!! :?2: :arrow2: :roll2:

To me, it looks like McSnead rolled the dice on a risky 2022 OL Plan...
a wonky plan that was exposed after only ONE GAME! :idea2:

Let's recall...
One IR'd Brian Allen, and one banged-up Joe Noteboom, in the Bills opener loss, led to Allen OUT, and Noteboom QUESTIONABLE for the following week versus Atlanta.
So after ONLY ONE GAME, here was the McSnead OL line-up for Atlanta in GAME TWO of 2022, (assuming Boom was OUT):
LT Alaric Jackson....FIRST NFL START
LG David Edwards...4 year vet
OC Coleman Shelton...THIRD NFL START
RG Tremayne Anchrim...FIRST NFL START
RT Rob Havenstein....6 year vet

Backup OC for Atlanta game was Jeremiah Kolone....ZERO NFL STARTS
The other Ram OL backup for Atlanta game was Bobby Evans.....NFL IMPOSTER.
Um.....does that look like a sound business plan? With ample depth in place? :roll2:

Tell me if I am missing anything in the way of any other 2022 McSnead Ram OL prepping?
Oh yeah, OG Oday 7TeamsIn8Seasons Aboushi, hurriedly fresh off of a NFL Practice Squad somewhere. :|

IMO, McSnead rolled the dice on the 2022 Ram OL.....and it didn't come up 7 nor 11....
and the plethora of Ram OL injuries, have piled-on to have them come-up SnakeEyes for our running game, Stafford's spleen, and our PPG output.....
and oh yeah,
for our 2022 Playoff Hopes.....just like they did it in 2019! :? :arrow2: :oops2:
Perplexing why McSnead planned with so much risk-factor mixed-in to the 2022 Ram OL. :|

Finally, Austin Steady,NeverInjured Corbett, a 2019-21 STARTER is allowed to walk for 3-year $28 Mil to Carolina.
Joe InjuredEveryYear! Noteboom, a 2018-2021 BACKUP is awarded a 3-year $40 Mil by McSnead.....
good planning, or more riskiness into the 2022 Ram OL recipe?? :?2:
We'll see over the next 10 games I guess.

One positive.....I read where some of the Ram 2022 OL Plan boosters.....okay ONE :lol2: ....actually posted in print....
asking WTF Bobby Evans was doing on Los Ramos roster. :idea2: :arrow2: :o

ME: Progress!!! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

GO RAMS! BURY BRADY!!! :!2: :!2: :!2:

I don't know if you heard the interview or not,
But he didn't have to say it directly that his inside players suck,
Its common sense,
If he stated that he would be willing to move in the inside,
If they could get Trent Williams.
Why bring that up about trying to get TW in a trade,
If you thought our inside was good? Come on man, think about that.... :lol2:

Anybody could read between those lines right? Common sense? And Whit would know that right? So he was throwing the OGs under the bus? Doesn't sound like him. Being the stand up guy and team first player, maybe he saw a chance for the Rams to get a younger stud LT, already better than Whit, who could be there for the Rams (for years) when Whit retired in 6 months? But we're all allowed to read in between the lines and translate the way we see fit.

The 49ers are not trading Trent Williams. He's good til 2027, if he decides to opt out, in 2023. If he does not, he'll be making $21 Million per year.

Do-able? That sounds like an awful lot to get done!!! Where's that thread, "the Bad Old Days are here again!"?

The conversation was before TW was traded to the 9ers.

Yes thats true that TW would be younger and taking over if that would of happen,
at the same time, by Whit moving over to guard, is the same thing, that he is better than what was there at the time...
