Posted this in the wrong thread. Here are my thought again. lol

I am usually pumped outta my mind for Rams playoff football. That has been tamped down this time around based on the devastation. Football is awesome. However, it rides in the back of the bus called “life” during these very chaotic, unsafe, and uncertain times. Yea, I will be into tonight. But win or lose, it’s still just a kids game played by and ran by very wealthy men. We don’t live and die based on our Rams’ performance. Although at times it can seem that way.

Enjoy the game and the respite from the destruction in LA. Hope for a Rams win. But don’t take it too hard if they “don’t get the results they are huntin’ up” - it’s just a game.

Be safe Ramily. See you all in the chat tonight. I’m sure as we get closer to kickoff I will get back to my usual self. You’ve been warned. lol

Go Rams!

On any given game day any team can be beaten. The vaunted Lions lost in the regular season to Tampa who lost to the Commanders in the Wildcard round.

They lost to the Bills a team the Rams beat. So does that mean the Rams can easily beat the Lions?

I'm being sarcastic of course but I'm making the point games aren't awarded they must be won. The Rams on paper outmatch the Vikings in a few areas and stand a very good chance of winning this game but have an inferior overall record. That in turn over looks that the Rams played the hardest schedule in the NFL.

Win/Loss record goes out the window in the playoffs. Tampa should have beaten the Commanders but they didn't because they made crucial mistakes. The Bill on paper should have beaten the Rams but underestimated them so they lost.

If the Rams win tonight they play the Eagles in Philly. So should they simply concede the game because of the Eagles record? If the Rams go into Philly and shutdown or at least control Barkley the Eagles lose their real edge in the game. If the Eagles come in over confident they could lose like the Bills did. The Eagles played the Rams in week 7 before they got their injured players back. The defense now is playing a whole lot better now with their experience. That is to say this isn't the same team the Eagles beat in week 7.

Sorry but I simply don't get why people get intimidated by regular season records. I have no doubt that the Rams if they played Detroit can beat them. Why? Because Goff even now struggles with pressure and like Stafford he isn't particularly mobile. If the Commanders can generate pressure they can perhaps force turnovers which would give them a opportunity to walk out with a win.

What I'm concerned about this Rams team is their relative inexperience. This is the first playoff game for a lot of them. If the defense makes mistakes I think it will come in the first half. That's why if they play clean in the first half I think they will only get better in the second half.

The Rams will face a desperate Vikings team. They are desperate to prove they aren't the outmatched team they looked like against the Lions. Darnold knows he's playing for his career in this game. That's a whole lot of pressure. In that regard, the Rams with Stafford have the huge advantage of a well tested QB in these types of games.

If the Rams come out and play fast, confident football early they will probably win this game and perhaps not as close as some predict. If the Rams go into the 4th quarter with a two score lead I don't see the Vikings making a comeback because desperation is a double edge sword.

First is all that matters today. This can go a lot of ways. The one way I DO NOT see it going is the Rams getting blown out. All other possibilities are on the table in my eyes.

The vikings defense has play makers in the front 7, but they are in the bottom 1/3 ranking against the pass. They are good against the run.

IMO a key in this game is can we out again out pace them from a rushing standpoint.

Week 8 . Jones 19 for 58 (3.1/ypc). Had early success but Rams slowed it down after a couple drives
Kyren 23 for 97 (4.2 ypc), steady all game.

I have a feeling we come passing to set up run, but I want to see the Rams commit to run and wear them down. Need the big boys up front to show out tonight!!
