Christian Miller is still out there, but he will be gone by the 5th

If his comparison is Samson Ebukam, I really don't want him. Ebukam is not a pass rushing edge rusher.

NFL Comparison
Samson Ebukam

Overview
Long, lean rush backer with above-average athletic traits that could serve him well as a pass rusher. Teams could be a little gun-shy with Miller considering the talent he played alongside and his solo season of production. What will be hard to ignore are his long arms, ability to attack the edge with speed and footwork to manufacture dangerous inside counters. He's talented enough to earn his keep chasing quarterbacks, but he'll have to gain strength and prove he can handle run duties in order to play every down.

Strengths

Long and athletic and continues to grow into his frame
Quality get-off either standing or with hand in the ground
Speed variance in his rush can lull tackles to sleep in their sets
Effective usage of arm length
Able to stick and stab tackles to maintain distance as a rusher
Gets some shoulder turn up the rush arc to avoid being punched squarely
Sudden, aggressive swats can clear tackle's outside hand to soften edge
Loose hips to pivot around the edge
Capable closing burst
Gets into run-blocking tackles with desired arm extension
Above-average pursuit speed to the sideline
Fluid to drop and cover backs headed out of the backfield

Weaknesses

High-cut with thin legs
Has added weight, but needs to put on more bulk and strength
Lacks sand to anchor and can get manhandled by tackles
Needs to ramp up his physicality to be able to play on early downs
Unable to convert his speed into power as a rusher
Can't power through edges as a rusher and gets forced wide
Doesn't have base strength to balance against redirect blocks

Some cats to consider or move around to get:
WR - Calvin Ridley. LB Mack Wilson, NT Daylon Mack, C/G Michael Jordan, EDGE Christian Miller

I see Miller touted by DB. Ridley would be a nice insurance policy for Kupp - excellent routes and hands

AN IDEA FOR DAY THREE....
SO ARE YOU GUYS STILL EAGER TO TRADE DOWN?

I only ask because the lowly Cincinnati Bengals have had 3 Total Picks so far in the 2019 NFL Draft.
They had one pick in each of the 3 Rounds so far. Nothing earth-shattering there you probably will say......BUT, guess how many 2019 NFL Draft Picks the Bengals have squirrelled away for Day Three?

10 (count'em TEN!!!) :o ….source: draftek.com

That's right....2 in the 4th Round, I in the 5th Round, 6 in the 6th Round :shock2: & 1 in the 7th.
Oh, and guess who the Head Coach for the Cincinnati Bengals is.....one Zac Taylor, former employee of Los Ramos and McVay's pal and assistant Ram WR Coach in 2017 and Ram QB Coach in 2018. :idea2:

Are we to believe that Les ILoveMy6thRoundPicks! Snead will be able to resist those six 6th Rounders just sitting there in his former lackey's lunchbag??!!
I think not. ;)

Okay, okay I am only half-joking....well, sort of. :P

Still and all, Cincy HC Zac Taylor needs to trade down tomorrow to pile up even MORE Day Three Draft Picks like he needs a case of chlamydia!!! He needs to trade some of those six 6th Rounders up into 5 Rounders.....right!!??
….and we know who loves 6th Round Picks eh?? :lol2:

We shall see! ;)

I like his first pick.

There were only 3 blue-chip players in this draft, and they went 1,2,3.

The Raiders had the draft resources to get any one of them. I'm disappointed that they didn't secure a blue-chip.

Nevertheless, at #4 pick, Ferrell may not have been the best player on the board, but he is the best player on the board that fits the Raiders scheme.

I heard a great conversation with Bill Polian on Sirrius NFL Channel yesterday. He repeated his famous quote from years ago somewhat altered ("Who the hell is Mel Kiper?"). He said to a fan who called in, (paraphrasing) "do you think Mel Kiper and the others have as much information as your team's scouting department, head coach and GM? They don't. You have to trust your staff. They take into consideration how the player fits into the system. They have done exhaustive research on the prospects. There are no reaches in the NFL draft. Just because the "experts" have this guy rated #10 at his position, your staff may have him rated #2 or #1."

Pat Kirwan had an interesting comment on a later show.
"We always took need into consideration. If we needed a tight end, when it came time to stack out board, the TE's would be ranked higher (than say a LB or OG). This helped because when we picked him our owner didn't wonder why we took him over the LB."

The Rams did nothing flashy in rounds 1-3. The players they took were rated so differently by a couple of Draft Publications that I read. For instance, in one the kid from Michigan was rated as the #26 CB (PFW) while in another he was #11 (Draftscout). The tackle from Oklahoma was ranked #3 in both. Henderson was ranked #4 and #7 while Rapp was ranked #1 and #3.

One of them had the kid from Penn St. ranked as #1 CB. He's still on the board. The C/G from Ohio St., Michael Jordan, is still on the board. He is ranked #16 among guards and centers by one publication and #2 OC in another. One of those guys on TV had him as the highest ranked OL left on his board during the 3rd round. He was the first freshman to start on the OSU OL since Orlando Pace. Maybe the Rams don't have him ranked that high (or the other 31 teams either).

Having said that, 59 players will come off the board before we pick again but we will have 3 picks in 8 slots (#162, #167 and #169) if Snead doesn't trade up. There will be no studs left so we'll probably supplement out 'needs' with our last 4 picks. A DL, LB, CB or maybe another OL. And I gotta believe McVay will get another offensive skill guy (WR?, TE?).

Just 3 years ago we would be looking for starters. Now we are looking for depth. What a difference a regime change makes, eh?

I don't hold much weight on those silly comparisons, dude is a player.
What I would expect is that he likely has a chip on his shoulder that he is being overlooked for playing with so much talent around him. If the dude has the hunger to prove everyone wrong, look out

That's what it seems like to me and I give them credit for taking the guy that best fits their situation rather than taking the guy that supposedly next "best". The pundits have been harsh about that pick but I thought they took the guy that they researched and thought was best for them.

While I like our first 3 picks, I'm not a fan of trading down 36 spots to move up 4. They must really like Evans. They must have felt someone was going to take him before their pick at 101. I'll trust they know what they're doing. Kromer is really good at coaching up these guys.
