Goff ain’t the problem. Sorry, just a fallacy. He CRUSHES when he has decent time. Not all day, just decent time. If you can’t see that...well, you don’t see the field at all.

How much did our offense wake up in the desert? In the first 7 drives we had 3 TDs, 2 FGs, 1 missed FG and 1 punt. We had 13 plays of 15 yards or more (10 of them going for 20 or more and a total of 19 going for 10 yards or more). IIRC, I heard the yardage the Rams put up in the first half was the most in one half by any team in any game this year. Sure it was the Arizona Cardinals but they are still an NFL team who had played 11 other games where that didn't happen. Jared Goff looked real good. Hopefully, we can keep up the offensive prowess in the last 4 games of the season vs better competition.

If people think Goff is THE problem, they have not been watching the 2019 LA Rams. Goff is struggling, but the whole offense has been struggling. Including the coach. When they improve he improves.

I know people say he got paid he should make up for the shortcomings. But it doesn't work that way. And that thought is very short sighted.

I think it would be a very short list of people who have argued that Goff is "the" problem. That is an extreme POV that is hard to support. Conversely, saying he is not a problem at all is just as hard to support.

Goff has left a lot of positive plays on the field and needs to play better than he has. That should not be a controversial statement.

If, by using the word "problem," the assertion that Goff needs to play better, I doubt there is anyone who would disagree.

If the word "problem" is used as a precursor to assertions that Goff should not have been extended or, in the most extreme example, should be replaced, I'd say there is substantial disagreement.

I don't think anyone has said that Goff should not have been extended "period". Just that his extension was premature and made without as much information as could have been gathered.

Agreed. Might end up saving us $$$ down the road but they could have chosen a less risky time.

I dont ever recall seeing a player who got his big payday suddenly improve as a result. I have seen a few regress, press, overcompensate or generally relax afterwards though.
Seemed like this particular player coming off a neutered thrashing on the biggest stage, should have gotten a few more reps first. jmo

Can't argue when it comes to AD. He's IS a great example that regression isn't the only result of getting a big payday.
There are probably others out there too, , , I just can't think of many / any... 8-)
