I could see moving the Rams to LA and establishing yourself with a winning NFL team there for the first time in decades. Then when fans get tired of the Buss kids ruining their team he buys the Lakers, with a partner in Magic and sells the Nuggets and Avalanche.

Wouldn't he just be able to buy them outright? He has already complied with the NFL's cross ownership rules. Any ownership he might have in the Nuggets if any as I admittedly have not looked at any of the terms he divested under. Anyway if he no longer owns or only owns a very little of the Nuggets seems he could just transfer the rest of his ownership and be able to buy the Lakers if they were ever for sale in the future. He should be able to clear any hurdles of cross ownership as the NFL has already deemed him in compliance. So I guess the real question then would be does the NBA have any rules of teams being owned by competing family members. So I reckon the question is when he divested so he could comply with cross ownership rules did he keep a minority share or fully transfer ownership?

His purchase would have to be contingent on him selling the Nuggets for sure. The family ties are probably too much for the NBA not even counting the NFL. If he bout the Lakers they'd be in the same city as the Rams so the NFL wouldn't have a problem at all. The problem would be with his son owning the Nuggets, in his name, and him owning the Lakers. That's what I think the NBA would object to. And if his end game is to be in LA then I could see it happening. LA is already rumored to be adding another MLS team and I'm sure he would be in on that. There are a few guys that own more than one MLS team from what I recall.

Yes they do for sure allow it in MLS and speaking of MLS it is more than likely gonna be imperative that STL gets a MLS team for the River Front. Back in June of this year in a interview Maggie Crane a spokeswoman for Slay's office when it was brought up how the revenue they figured on getting from Ram's football keeps falling short of the mark and the city has to cover the difference from the city's general fund. She was asked if she was worried about the same problem with the River Front, the revenue shortfall, She replied that is why they are going after a MLS team and concerts.

I don't follow MLS at all, but I seriously doubt that STL will get an MLS team. San Antonio and other cities have a much better chance to get an MLS team.

I have no clue so I can buy into your line of reasoning. I just know that amongst the many creative ways they are shoestring their funding it appears they are looking to include MLS as they themselves seem to be apparently aware the city really don't have the money to keep the promise that football revenues alone would fund this. They were not able to do it with the Dome and will not be able to do it with the River Front as well.

I'm on the iPad and don't have the time to really search but I'm pretty sure MLS already decided their next franchises and StL didn't get one but they want a second in LA.
