Thanks for the info 82.

Very curious to see what happens w Watkins. A lot of fan boards are salivating over him.

I’d be happy to see Robinson or Richardson here.

I want Richardson - that kid is gonna be a beast. Hungrier and less entitled than Sammy. And a fucking blur on the deep routes.

Would be so happy if we get him.

I think $9-10 but heard all kinds of numbers

No way that 9-10 is real. This is the problem with Watkins. People are often making the mistake of assessing him solely on production. Problem is that we can't judge him on 2017 production because there's a whole bunch of mitigating factors. It;s reasonable to project him as being far more productive than he was last year. And of course if we know that then NFL teams do too. Last year his tier of WR--which is at the top of the league but one tier down from the very elite---got around 14 M. This year that tier will get more because contracts go up, and because Watkins is the best WR out there in a year when several teams are rich with cap space.

So I both agree and disagree with Cole. On the one hand, no his inherent value is not in the 9-10 M range. Not only is that not his inherent value as a player, it's never going to happen anyway. On the other hand he said he has heard all kinds of numbers. Absolutely. He's worth more than 9-10 M and this year chances are prices get inflated on top of it.

Watkins is an enigma for sure.
There are many that just believe he is elite, that he is just ready to explode and produce OBJ type numbers. Yet looking over his career, he hasn’t produced anything like that. Barely cracked 1,000 yards 1 time. Never had 10 tds. Catch/target rate low 50%s

Full disclosure, I am in the “many” category.

Rams have 2 good, potentially great, wr in Woods and Kupp. You’d think a WR who specializes in deep routes would thrive at an opportunity like the Rams offer. I want Watkins back but feel supremely confident that if we don’t, we’ll get a more than capable replacement

The thing we don't know, the thing that really matters is what does Sean McVay think of Sammy Watkins?

thing?

He probably means the opening of the new year and the dealing is about to begin.

One thing about Watkins (who said he wants to remain here) is that opponents have to scheme against him because of his threat. That helps the plays to work.
Just can't overpay. 2 year prove it deal with tons of incentives might do the trick.
If he does go, I'm certain his role will be capably filled.

1 thing for certain,, I really don't want to see him go up to SF. Or Tru for that matter.
