We've played some tough teams tough. Last week was a slug fest. This week might seem easy by comparison,,, other than all that racket.

I said this in another thread. All this talk about crunch time and being clutch is overrated. Be good for 3 quarters and you won't have to come from behind. I'd rather have the lead than rely on a clutch QB to win every game at the end.

When you hear talk about how certain QB's are great in the clutch, what is their record when trailing in the final minutes? I'll bet they didn't do it every time. Make a habit of it and you'll start seeing losses. Carr and the Raiders were pretty good at it last year. This year not so much.

I didn't make it, but thought folks here would appreciate it. It does highlight my favorite quality about Jared and why I DID want him over Wentz. Wentz has all the tools for sure, I don't think anyone doubts his athleticism or his leadership qualities at all.

But Jared is a rare beast to me. Every play, every game, every hit, for Goff they are all lesson's. I don't think I've ever seen some one take on so much ridicule, take so many hard hits, be so doubted on by so many, and just use it as fuel. He remains unphased. He knows it's all a process, he knows he's a work in progress and he is ALWAYS in pursuit of trying to be better than he was the day before. I saw him go from one of the worst possible seasons of college football possible. Beaten, a loser. Only to rise in miracle fashion the next year, with a new coach, in a new program and take the league by storm. Sound familiar?

Goff will never quit. He'll stare down the big hit coming straight at his face to make the throw. He'll grow into his leadership role. He'll get stronger, and faster, and smarter. He'll do all of this, not for us, not for the team, not for McVay, but because it is who he is. This season may not pan out with the sky high expectations some of us have dreamed of, but we're only just starting this ride, and it's going to be a hell of a lot of fun.

I understand Goff has been overshadowed by Wentz in his first 2 seasons, and for good reason, hell he may even be the lesser of the 2 next year as well. But that will shift, sooner rather than later. No one wants Jared Goff to be the best QB in the NFL more than Jared Goff. It will happen. Bet on it.

Granted, Goff is better now. But is he that much better that he wont make any critical mistakes in crunch time? That's what I'm doubtful about.

Gurley is protecting the ball now, I believe that wont happen again. TruJ sees the error of his act, I doubt he or anyone else on the defense taunts in this game. And those are not difficult things to correct.

Playing QB at a high level after showing that you have not been up to the challenge in clutch time is nowhere as easy to correct.

I'm not saying the Rams can't or won't win. They have the best RB in the NFC this year, and I believe they can win with him.

Goff had a great final drive against the Seahawks. A fast aggressive drive with little time on the clock, and he delivered a strike in the end zone, that Kupp had roll off his fingers.

So, the question of whether he can do it is already answered. He can and proved it. Will he do it in this next game? Who knows. After the Eagles scored they turned up the pass rush.
I haven't seen the All-22 to know but it seemed like the Rams receivers were not getting open most of the game. The OLine wasn't blocking as well either, and if not for one fateful play called by McVay the Rams may easily have been victorious. Goff can't be blamed completely for holding the ball too long on a bomb to Watkins.

Are you talking about a game that is won on the last drive? A fourth-quarter come from behind victory? Kurt Warner was never ready to win a game like this either .... he only did it nine times in his entire career.

Goff has ice in his veins ... his last drive will be as consistent as his first.

Hey max? The last time I was entertained by a post of yours was in pre-season, and you had some definitive things to say about Tru Johnson's contract getting resolved.

My memory is a little unclear Max, please remind me how that worked out?

If Goff isn't, I think the other 51 guys are, including a guy named Aaron Donald
