But those 14 points didn't happen in a vaccum. They happened when they did and they simply did nothing to stop Miami when it counted.

Of *course* it's ultimately the Offenses fault for not scoring enough. But you have to make plays in the 4th Quarter of a winnable game. Period.

They don't seem to excel against a hurry up.

The problem with this team is, and has been, the offense (and HC) for 5 years now.

But the defense did give up two TD's in the 4th quarter when it really mattered. That's not nothing...

Because too much responsibility is put upon them. We can't expect them to carry the game the entire time. They can't defend and win games at the same time. It's as if Fisher expects them to somehow contribute a score as well if they're to pull their weight.

I wish we could have Fisher as our DC and then hire a better, offense-oriented HC. This whole Fisherball "get ahead and then defend that lead" mentality is ridiculous when we have a frickin' QB with a gun for an arm waiting to be exploited.

The blame for this loss is solely on the shoulders of Fisher's play not to lose mentality.
But the defense doesn't get a pat on the ass for a nice effort either.
Great defenses don't give up 10 point leads with 5 minutes left in the game, whether protecting a 10-0 lead, a 20-10 lead, 31-21 etc... It just shouldn't happen.
Also, Miami only had 1 3rd down conversion in their last 2 drives, a 3rd and 3, so it wasn't even like the defense got in the way in those 2 drives.

I wouldn't blame the loss on Fisher or your D. I would blame the rain...Soon as the rain stopped the Fins Offense came alive. Had it rained the whole game we might not be talking about this...Dolphins having 3 starters out on the off line was a huge factor also.

This is Fisher's last season for sure.

There will be plenty of options next year. The LA market is very attractive.

I believe Gregg Williams will be on the top of a short list. We need his defense and he can bring in a coordinator. There will be a top tier list of those available as well.

Next year will be a much better year.
