His teammates voted him a captain prior to the start of the season, so I think your statement that confidence was tenuous at best is incorrect. We want to sit in our armchairs and make proclamations to that effect because its allows us to envision a Goff start. Fisher thinks that Keenum is not the sole reason for being 3-4 and making a switch creates no net gain as far as the Win/loss column goes. LIke it or not we are going to ride with Keenum until we are realistically out of the playoff race. As long as there is a path, Fisher will continue with Case and Goff will sit.

They voted Foles a captain last year, how'd that go? How long before the players were thinking "oh, crap, this guy ain't the answer."

And don't look now, but we are realistically out of the playoffs now even if Fisher won't admit it. This is a 7 or 8 win team at most. Football Outsiders has the Rams at 7 wins, and Massey Peabody has them at 6.4 wins. That's based on more than their 3-4 record in comparison to the rest of the NFC. It's based on the Rams statistical performances and analytics.

But you may be right that Fisher will continue with Case until they are virtually mathematically eliminated. He shouldn't be able to get away with that though. The hope I have is that Kroenke is asking more questions than he did in STL.

The players voted him as Captain? I thought that Fisher named the team captains?
As for "losing the team", I'm not really sure what to say. If I'm a WR that watched my QB throw 4 picks, and then have the coach rail on the WR crew for it, I'd think Keenum might be down pretty low on the Christmas card list

Although Fisher announced it, The captains were voted on by the players.

As far as Case is concerned, No one on that Offense really has a right to point fingers at anybody. I guarantee you the Offense hasn't turned on Case because they all know, each and every one of them has played a part in the complete lack of production. The OL cannot block for shit, The WR and TE run sloppy routes and tend to drop their fair share of balls, The RB cannot get more than 3 yadrs per carry and the QB has a noodle arm and still makes mental mistakes. This isn't a Case issue, It's a Fisher/Boras issue and injecting Goff into the mix will not fix it.
