I laughed out loud as soon as I saw that.
In reality that would be depressing.
What a waste and a mistake if that's true.

Rams don't have to eat any of his contract, potentially good get for Bears. Tough break how it went down, injuries, Limmer emerged but JJ still has the potential, been to a few probowls...

We got that 6th round pick and salary gone. Good move for Rams at this point and Bears desperately need OL help.

Rams did well trading JJackson and finding a way to keep Kupp would NOT be a bad move. A lot would depend on what gas Kupp feels he has left to take an incentive laden contract with a losing team. If we drafted a top WR and had say, Emeka Egbuka or Mathew Golden (4.29) outside and Robinson #3 Kupp could still contribute as the #4. Egbuka may be too much like Nakua and Kupp to compliment them. We need a speed guy whether Kupp stays or not.

Stafford's contract details will say a lot but a "significant" raise over 27 mil would have to be at least 35-40 mil in 2025 and who knows in 2026. They say he's set until then and the Giants met his AND the Rams draft pick demands so was it all leverage?

I think it really depends. McVay sounds like he has moved on, it is a little odd to me, but he really seems like he wants to move in a different direction. I know he is tired of the injuries.

J. Jackson was a huge disappointment. Even I expected better play from him at LG. I'm glad the Rams tendered Limmer's backup. With Leveston hopefully back at 100% this OL is built until they replace Havenstein next year. It wouldn't surprise me if they used their 2 third round picks on a RB and RT unless they feel Leveston can be that guy. It will be interesting to see where they play Leveston in OTAs.

Stafford realized that playing behind a poor OL for two years isn't worth the money difference when he could stay in Calif and chase a second ring. As I've mentioned in another post I couldn't understand Stafford's reasoning? He created a ruckus to get a minimal raise? He would probably have played two more years through 2026 but I doubt that happens now. At some point a man has to ask himself, "how much money is enough?" He's made over $140M just since being in LA and got his ring. Rumor has it that the amount he's playing for is in the low to mid $40M range. Not that much more than he would have gotten by simply asking for a restructure without the blackmail threat. No way I see the Rams willing to return to this circus next year no matter what they publicly say.

Even Stafford has to know he's done after this year. Don't get me wrong he's earned his keep in LA and has had a brilliant career. But this circus wasn't necessary. He knew when he signed the contract this was a one contract team. They simply are recycling the same money that was already on the table and in fact he might have lost a bit. Time for Matt to go all in and win another ring this year and retire on top. It's all setup for him. He's got the team he needs to do it in all 3 phases.

If the Rams get a true RB threat the NFL had better be ready for a legit run by the Rams. IMO The Rams have both a RB and another "Whittington" type WR (big fast and mid to late round) targeted this year.

Other than ILB and NT, I don't see the Rams in the market for expensive FAs. However, I still think Hampton might be their in-house solution to ILB. He has the size and, most of all, the speed they want. It will be interesting to see if they play him anywhere other than OLB in OTAs.

The Rams tendered that other center Dylan McMahon as well.

Yeah so far not a huge fan, but hopefully he can develop.

That’s why they tendered him. They see something worth trying to develop. A few more key moves and they can truly attack the draft in direction they want.
