Is quiet disrespect? Maybe.

All the non Superbowl chatter around the league will be about the collapse of the NFCN teams. Lions, Vikings, Packers -- all perceived giants... didn't even compete when it came to the post-season. NOBODY is going to talk about how the Rams (early) took the dangerous Lions (at their strongest) to OT, bested that 'freak alien' Allen, or the likely SB champs Eagles to the 5 yard line-- 4 plays from being knocked out?

And nobody is really going to talk about that next year when the draft starts.

I think it's a sign of disrespect, but it's the modern news cycle. We'll get stronger in the draft and make a run for it next year-- again.

The Two Super Bowls losses to the Pats

2003 vs Panthers in Double OT

Last year vs the Lions

And now today vs the Eagles

Don't forget that WC game against the Saints in 2000.

Like this one, a game you've pretty much accepted you're going to lose, then thought you were gonna win, and then lose. You have to go through losing twice. A double loss.

But that's sports. Great wins, painful losses, rinse, repeat.

Every person has their own unique perspective. I don’t choose one from your menu, thank you.

In order to win this game the Rams needed to:

Contain the running game. 150 yards and we could win. 300 yards, no way. FAIL

Don’t lose the turnover battle. I mean, how can we not get 1 turnover in that weather? Is it too much to ask that Kyren and Stafford don’t fumble away points? FAIL

Sure, the Rams played hard. All playoff teams play hard. They did not execute properly. This loss was a failure and a disappointment. There are no moral victories - only losses.

At the end of the day, the Rams never figured out how to play run defense. That is why they lost. They were 22nd versus the run and it was their demise. Saquon Barkley was mocking our defense.

PARAM wrote:I think it's a matter of perspective.

From the perspective during last off season......solidified our interior O line; signed Parkinson, Curl , DWill; drafted Verse, Fiske, Corum; "if our defense is only half good, nobody is gonna stop our O we're gonna dominate, as long as we stay healthy"....not the season we expected.

From the perspective....."injuries have killed us; our O line is in disarray, Kupp and Puka out; we'll be lucky to be 3-2 going into the bye; Shula is in over his head"......a bit better than we thought.

From the perspective starting 1-4......"damn McVay did it again, we won the division; our D is better than expected; and with all we had to overcome....young D, injuries, etc".....great season.

From the perspective 1-4......"we're toast....I'm not gonna waste my time watching....oh look we're 1 game out of the division....what a game vs the Bills!!!...3-6 last year, 1-4 this year, playoffs both times....nobody wants to face us now"...........not a grwat season...."we shoulda won in Philly, shoulda gone to the CCG and the Superbowl. I never doubted them for a minute".....Great season? NOT!!! How can you say that Red?

Now we need to start planning for our next QB.

LOL Geez as a Tucson resident I think you only need to look at the dumpster fire Cardinals. IMO we have seen the last of Murray. They will be looking to draft a dual threat QB. Gannon came from Philly so IMO he will try to emulate that formula in AZ.

I'd be shocked if Stafford is a Ram next year. That deep pass he completed to Robinson was underthrown. Matt didn't have the arm strength to drop a dime, which he should have been able to do despite the temps. I've been seeing this degradation of his skills for two years now. I think McVay knows he can't carry him any longer. They wasted a good defensive effort because of an ailing QB and a fumbling RB.

Losing was bad enough, it's how they lost. They did exactly what I hoped they wouldn't. They turned the ball over.

So you think both Stafford and Kyren are gone next year.

Got it.

And having said all that.......

....failing to stop the run all day (except on Philly's final possession)

....losing the turnover battle giving away 2 while not recovering the two they fumbled

....not executing properly at times

....we were 13 yards from outright victory. In order to win all we needed to do was make a 1st down on 3rd and 2, then put the ball in the end zone. We had almost a minute left to do that.

But yeah, had we done all those other things we failed to do, we may not have needed to do anything but kneel on the ball. And despite all those "issues", we put ourselves in position to win in the end. Remarkable.

I don't remember when Saquon was mocking our defense. Must have missed that one.

My perspective is, I really enjoyed this season. From watching fans give up on them (come on, how about a show of hands!), to watching the team fight back to win the division, to beating Minnesota badly, to playing the divisional game like a microcosm of the season, to watching Eagle fans crapping their pants at the end, it was great. So we didn't advance to the CCG and subsequently aren't going to win SB59......just like 31 other teams! Oh my!! Poor, poor, pitiful me!!!

So you didn’t see Barkley slow down and taunt Verse on the 2nd long TD run? I am surprised you missed it.

Barkley said he was warned by the refs to stop talking shit to the Rams…. embarrassing.

Oh pahleese. There are a ton of trash tslkers and taunters in the NFL. Embarrassing is getting your ass beat 29-9. Embarassing is blowing a 17 point lead. Embarrassing is a lot of things but Sunday's game was not that.

I'm embarrassed for some fans and their reactions to this loss.

It was a heartbreaking loss. Like Elvis, win loss win loss... This one is lingering for awhile. it was such a journey this year and we actually looked like we could be SB bound again.

If you would have told me we would give up 3 long runs for TD's, -2 in turnovers and we had a chance to win the game in the end i wouldnt have believed it.

Jalen Carter made a plan and crushed our dreams. It happens, ask AD.

The defense absolutely crushed it (except for a few plays obviously). Jared Verse is a future DPY.

Again, I will always remember this season, we were doubted all season and nearly made the NFC Championship. From where we started we were very fortunate to make the playoffs. Things change year to year but the Rams defense is something we know we can build around.

Anyway Kyren HAS to get this fumble thing fixed. The weather dont help (just ask the Ravens) but with the momentum in our favor Kyren killed it and mostly our chance to control the game. It will be an offseason project for him.

Game sucked because I went from thinking we can’t score too fast to fuck!!!!! 3rd and 2 Mcvay was thinking he didn’t want to put it in Karen’s hands. Everything was gonna be in Staffords hands.

It’s unfortunate the sack happened. The Center fucked up on something. Lesner Lindler. That’s why Centers are important just like Quarterbacks. They have to read the defensive line. If they make the wrong observation 3rd and 2 happens like with the Niners against the Chiefs if Kittle reads the right guy to take the Niners probably have a Super Bowl and that was a 3rd down play to.

When you look at the play and see we could’ve scored a touchdown that makes it even more fucked up. Does Jalen Carter get that sack if he doesn’t have a chance to rest after the false start. Are they still in No Huddle and he isn’t able to get there and make that play????
