PARAM wrote:100% true. I always defer to management. Call it blinders. Rose colored glasses. Whatever. But I feel these are the guys who see these players everyday and know or believe they know, what we have. And it's pretty hard to contradict after 8 years of consistency. They've acquired guys in season they believe they needed. Ramsey and Von Miller. Outside of that, I can't think of any who had a major impact.

This year it's cornerbacks. We remember the 66 yard Tucker Kraft TD, the two long passes from Geno to Njigba and Lockett and think "we need help in the secondary". Perhaps it's a legit viewpoint, perhaps not. If we go by position group we know we don't need QB, WR, RB, OL and DL. We could use an uptick in performance at TE and ILB. But CB? Like I said in a previous post, EVERY NFL team could use help at CB because it's a passing league. However, is it an absolute necessary?

As Elvis pointed out in his post, we could be subtracting from the secondary rather than adding to it. Time will tell if that's the smart move. I think the versatility of Lake and the ability of our other safties makes up for what is perceived as lacking at the CB position. Wallace was injured on the 2nd half kickoff vs Seattle but actually returned to the game.

Be it blind optimism or not, I trust McVay and Shula explicitly.

I’ve seen enough from this FO to know they can F&$k up a wet dream when it comes to unloading talent and NOT replacing it with Ramsey & EJ. We STILL need a MLB. Where are we week 10? With our guy playing against us twice a year. Now we’re trading away a cost effective CB who could at least help us with depth. The Lions just got DE Smith & a 7th from Cleveland for a future 5th & 6th. 32 yrs old, 5 sacks this year and fills a void. That’s the kind of talent I’m talking a out. NOT a shutdown CB just someone, anyone to go with Williams.

Hardly just as meaningful.

Early November game vs. divisional round of the playoffs? I don't think so.

So trading Ramsey and still making the playoffs was a "bad move"? You do know who we took with the third round pick we got for Ramsey right? Byron Young. And who gives a fuck how many times we have to face Jones? We're already 1-0 so what's the big deal? And he probably won't be in Seattle in 2025 since his contract is up. I assume you're talking about T. White being that "cost affective CB who could at least help us with depth". Is that a done deal? I haven't heard anything yet. But by all means, you keep up with the "they're not doing enough" and "they're not making the right moves". I will continue to enjoy this 2024 ride.

Fitting line from the Coach McVay show. "Comparison can become the thief of joy".

I think Williams will be a great fit in Pittsburgh. Lots of plusses for that deal. He gets away from Aaron "It wasn't my fault" Rodgers and goes to a team with a high priority run game. He'll certainly get his opportunities for a lot of contested catches.

Lattimore to the commanders. Other trades made. Not sure how up to the minute but no other CBs traded here and no idea what the Saints got for him. We sure could have used him. wow.

To these guys and this team? I’d argue that. Sure it was a great win in an OT playoff game but nonetheless a dramatic win here on Sunday. BTW, didn’t the Rams stink it up in the NFC championship that year 30-3? This season os ahead of us with a SB to win. We’ll see.

Still a pretty good trade considering Seattle gave a 4th for EJ.
