Watching Bucs v Ravens. Our team looks slow and inept compared to aggressive, creative offenses. I do not have the best feeling about Thursday for our offense.

It may well be the only team the Rams beat with Sunday's effort is the pathetic Raiders. If a potential Kupp spark doesn't materialize it could get ugly. This will be a huge game and one that if the Rams come up short '24 is looking something less than promising. Right now I have the Ravens as the team to beat. Lions number 2.

Don’t forget the Chiefs. And then there is the next tier: Vikings, Packers, Texans, Steelers, Commanders, Bills.

We are still in the bottom tier and don’t look good enough at this time to hang with any of the teams in the league with a winning record. We just have to get to .500 then hope we get Nacua and Avila back. Those two and Kupp are absolutely critical to see if this team has enough to rise to a much higher level.

This team looks lost and the offense is uninspired and predictable.
I swear to God if we run another surrender/draw play on 3rd and long again I'm going to lose it.

We were definitely conservative against the Raiders, but we won the game even with leaving 4 points off the board. I hope we see more aggressive play Thursday with the same defense. Got to get Darnold to make a couple mistakes to win and we cant make any.

The Rams startling ineptitude on offense against the Raiders was shocking. Not sure I have watched a game where the Rams didnt even take 20 yard shots down the field. I mean get respecting Maxx but I thought I was watching vintage Bill Walsh without the success.

Rams have to be light years better in 3 days against an aggressive Vikings, not feeling great about it. This past Sundays game plan was odd and ineffective. We must at min. run the ball more effectively and hope to get some play action off of it.

To add to my point, the Raiders have given up the following point totals

22, 23, 36, 16, 34 and 32. We scored 20 points while benefiting from 4 turnovers

Better get that Kicking game back in gear too.

The offense scored two TD's off turnovers. Had 25 less snaps. The defense did pretty well but against a weak offense with subpar quarterbacks. Its gonna take a lot more to win Thursday. I don't see it happening but I thought the same with SF. How many Any Given Sundays do we have left? Or in this case Thursday.

I saw the entire Raiders game as being based on the Rams deliberately looking ahead. They could beat the Raiders with minimal prep and a restricted offensive gameplan, and used some of that week to deliberately look ahead to the Vikes. That's a hunch on my part but if it's true, then the offense being limited against the Vegas team is no measure of how good or bad they are.

They basically played that game with 3 #3 & #4 caliber WRs starting, and with less dedicated prep than is usual for them. It was all short passing plus run the ball. And they held back both Kupp and Whittington.

But how the Raiders game went also depended a lot on how they revamped the defense over the bye. I think it's no accident that up to 5 DBs stood out in that game. I can't remember the last time I watched the Rams and thought, the secondary won that game almost single handed.

I like Williams and he brings a lot of flexibility on how Shula can use him. He can play inside and outside. Both Durant and Witherspoon look to be best playing on the boundary.

IMO the defensive weakness is clearly at ILB. With the number of decent OLBs on the team I think they should consider aligning one or two inside. Even more than Christian Rozeboom who I think is the weakest link on defense is the mediocre play of Reeder. IMO Nick Hampton would be the guy I would look at to replace either one of the ILBs. He's got better size and speed than either one and would be a legitimate pass rushing threat. With Brennan Jackson they can still have a decent rotational pair of edges along with Hoecht.

IMO the ILBs are where OCs will attempt to exploit both running the ball and in the quick passing game. If Shula isn't going to shift an OLB over then he must think about playing yet another rookie in Speights who I feel can't play as badly as Rozeboom. At somepoint this season they need to consider replacing both Reeder and Rozeboom with someone like Hampton and Speights.

Perhaps it's just me but I believe in playing your best players where needed regardless of their "official" designated positions. I totally agree with the Rams that they shouldn't have given in and over paid for Jones. Jone's play in TN has vindicated this view. But they should understand that his production needs to be accounted for. Neither Reeder or Rozeboom are getting it done. The Rams have a mini bye week after Thursday's game. If they are going to make a change at ILB they need to do it then.

I mean the Rams could have used Jones THIS season, kinda like what is probably going to happen with Atwell. Jones has led the Titans in tackles several games. I wish we had him because Rozeboom cant tackle and Reeder is quite slow. Hopefully the younger guys can come in a take some plays soon or we will get torn up by the running game and most TE's. Bowers was literally open on every play. We could really use Jones right now.

That’s it. The Rams win the divisions at 10-7. How they get to 10-7? I have no idea. lol. Winning Thursday would be huge in that regard.
