A friend of mine and I were talking about the Ram's D. I reminded him that before the draft I told him I hoped they would trade up for Verse but when he dropped I was shaking my head in disbelief. He was at my place when the Rams were drafting and when they took Verse I turned to my GF and my friend and told them that the Rams just drafted another Von Miller type of edge. They thought I was nuts.

Watch this breakdown. Verse has the potential to be as disruptive as any edge rusher the Rams have had. He's a wrecking ball in the way he can destroy an offense. Teams thought they could breathe easier when AD retired. Well guess again.

Verse might never be a GOAT or even a HOF level player but there is no dispute that this guy is a true force on the DL. So much so that Shula will often drop Young to be an edge setter knowing he has Verse, Turner and Fiske still on that defensive front. Which is where the value of Hoecht comes in. OL's don't know if Hoecht or Verse is rushing. That hesitation causes missed blocks.

As pointed out in the clip, Verse influences the play without having to make the stat sheet. This guy is an absolute monster who will terrorize the NFCW for a long freaking time.

I would LOVE co-DROY with Fiske and Verse!! It would be very fitting considering their journey together.

Verse SHOULD get DROY, sadly though, I don't think he will.

1. Because Mitchell and the Eagles beat us head to head, and

2. The amount of missed tackels and sacks from Verse will hurt him. Those numbers matter. But most of all....

3. Because voters will look at the top 3 rookies and say "Look, Verse had Fiske's help, and Fiske had Verses help. Neither would be as good without the help of the other, and Mitchell did it all by himself." :roll2:

Would love to be wrong about this especially because, homerism aside, I truly belive Verse deserves it.

I'm reposting this from another posting:

I was looking at Verse stats on the NFC league for both DE & OLB,

Verse:
3rd in Comb tackles
4th in Solo Tackles
1st in Asst

1st QB knock downs
3rd Pressures
3rd TFL
4th QB Hurries
2nd QB/Hits
12th in Sacks (if he gets at least three sacks, he'll jump up to the top 3 or 5)

Based off these numbers, Verse is on his way making the PB, IMO

Based off these numbers, Verse is doing way better than Mitchell,

if you compared by position by position in how they are doing in their position,

based off their position they play in; Mitchell doesn't come close to Verse.

Mitchell, when the ball is thrown in his direction, the QB rating is 81.7,

he ranks 63 comparing to DBs, 0/INT, he is given up 11.7yds/completion,

6.5 yds/target ranking at 72
