I feel he is stating that, depending on if TE/Davis Allen is available,

Then we don't have to bring up a TE from the PS

So, he can bring up WR/Smith & CB/Witherspoon

After that emotional big win the concern is a let down this week. Rams are not good enough to overlook anyone at this point. Especially the defense.

Another mobile quarterback. They had all kinds of trouble with Murray. They had difficulty corralling Purdy when they had chances to. Hopefully they worked on containment. While our offense might be the best the Bears have faced, our defense is probably the worst they've faced so far. Its gonna take a lot of discipline to contain Williams.

IMO this is a very important game for the Rams, more so than simply record. This is the game where they need to show they are starting to put it together as a team on both sides of the ball.

The Niner game was a confidence builder. The Bears are good enough to beat a team that allows themselves to be beaten. The Rams must prove they are beyond just giving good effort. They must show they will win the games they should win.

Durant should play SCB for the rest of the season. Witherspoon needs to lock that outside CB position opposite White down. This will allow the Rams to play Lake at safety where he is best played. Kinchens is too raw at this point.

This is no disrespect to Durant. His development was stunted by being benched by Morris which IMO was a huge mistake. So in reality this is more like his second year playing at CB which is far more complicated than most people realize. CB is extremely technique heavy so it's why young inexperienced CBs tend to struggle. Durant has flashed enough to show he belongs, he simply needs time to develop.

The issue IMO with playing Corum is his ability to pass block. I think this is why Rivers is still rotating with Williams. Like CBs being able to read WR's techniques, RBs must do likewise with front 7s. It takes time and experience. With an IOL which is playing two backups and a dinged up Dotson there is no room for error for a RB in pass protection.

The problem I have with PFFs grading OLs is they seem to lack understanding of how OLs are played in the NFL. They don't seem to take into account what the OL call was. Bruss has been caught a few times out of sync but how much of that is due to the OL protection call with a rookie center is debatable. Overall he hasn't played as badly as largely portrayed, for a backup player. You want to see horrible OL play rewind to 2022. I think Bruss will begin to put it all together.

When I watch this game it won't be simply hoping they win. But how they win, i.e. play, will be even more important. If the Rams can go into the GB game with an even record it will again be a confidence builder as playing GB will be another step up in the competition level.

GB is another team that will beat a team that makes enough mistakes to allow it. If the Rams can go into the bye week 3-2 they will be set up for another playoff run. Personally, I don't think we will see either Kupp or Nacua until after the bye. As long as their current WRs stay healthy they are good enough to carry the load for the next two games.

From what I’ve seen from Chicago, their Def is great at creating turnovers and points off of them, their special teams are good, when you blitz Caleb he is not super. The Bears are going to try to take a page from the 49ers early part of the Rams game, hoping for positive runs (more than 3 yards), designed screens, and ball control. The Rams D must do better on 1st down and take the run out of the game. Swift has struggled with them so far. The Rams absolutely must contain AND tackle better if Williams breaks the pocket. Their effort vs Purdy was embarrassing.

In counter, the Rams need to do the same thing as the Bears; positive yards on first down via the run or controlled WR screens etc. Success opens up play action which Stafford eats up. The Rams offense cannot hope to function with 2nd and 8s and 3rd and longs. It makes them one dimensional and Chicago will eat them up if that happens too may times.

The Bears will turn it over if you let them. This will be a meat and potatoes ugly game. We will learn a lot of if the “new” Rams can match up physically.

This is a decent round table. Nice Rams upside. I agree with the 0.0% chance of the Seachickens finishing on top of the NFC West.
