Caleb, Maye, Penix, Nix, McCarthy, etc....I can't see all of them coming off the board in the first. Maybe the Rams grab one in the 2nd. Maybe the Rams trade down so somebody can take #3 or #4, then turn around and grab #5 or #6 AND still have another 2nd round pick for a stud. So far to go before the picture is in focus.

And so much depends on the rest of this season. One I intend to enjoy all the way. The offseason is friggin long. lol

Carson Beck. That’s the guy we are targeting.

He might be better then Caleb. Caleb has the arm but he’s 6-1 and the way he played down the stretch this season makes me think. Like when Winston kind of stunk it up his junior season that stuff followed him to the pros.

Nobody is talking about Carson Beck. Carson Beck is way better then Michael Phenix.

Carson Beck has ideal size “6-4” 225 pounds. Mobility and can run in the pocket and outside the pocket. Can make the throws. He had a corner throw in the end zone tonight against Georgia Tech that the refs called back it was so accurate. Right in the corner of the end zone. Stuff. Like that. He looks like Stafford. Same size as Stafford. Stafford can mentor him. Same way they throw to.

Stetson Bennett is not a factor. They took a swing and struck out. This guy has all the tools. I know our personel likes the Georgia guys. He’s got the quarterback skill.

Him and Jayden Daniels are gonna make a debate out of it.

What I like Between Caleb and Maye we’re gonna get a good guy.

How would you know that?

First off, why did McVay wanted Stafford so bad,

and traded Goff away?

Cause McVay knew adding Stafford with his experience,

could take us over the top.

Remember, Goff was a second-year kid when McVay took over,

Apparently, he didn't work well with Goff because of his youth.

Now you have Wentz a seven yr vet, learning the McVay system,

and learning behind Stafford, with the next couple of years,

He would be perfect fit for McVay.

Are you kidding me????? Carson Wentz?????? Carson Wentz????? You’re caping for Carson Wentz the dude he torpedoed the colts season. The guy who flamed out on the Commanders. Carson Wentz will not be a factor as a Quarterback leading any team in the NFL why do you think he was available. Nobody wanted him. So don’t sit up here like we are getting a franchise Quarterback. It’s great to root for the team. Don’t be delusional. The guy turnovers the ball whenever he has it. The fact that you are leaving that out says all I need to know about this with Carson Wentz on the Rams.

I forget which coach said it (Martz?)...."I like players who are multiple year starters in college".

Carson Beck (Jr) first year starter
Jayden Daniels (Sr) 4 year starter
Caleb Williams (Jr) 2 year starter
Drake Maye (Soph) 2 year starter
JJ McCarthy (Jr) 2 year starter
Bo Nix (Sr) 5 year starter
Michael Penix (Sr)** Multiple year starter
Shedur Sanders (Jr) first year starter

**Injury concerns

Anthony Richardson looks like the real deal and he only started 1 season in college. Mac Jones was the Bama starter for 1 season and he looks like it. Mitch Trubisky. The problem with picking a 1 year starter (usually from a successful program) is was it the QB or the phenomenal team around him or the competition? Having said that, multiple year starters are no guarantee in the NFL. Sam Darnold. Kenny Pickett. Zach Wilson. And yet others from lesser schools drop like a rock. Sam Howell. Cowherd said it best. "The worst teams in the NFL get the best QBs from college. And that can ruin a kid."

The NFL draft is a crapshoot and QB is the biggest crapshoot in the crapshoot.

To me, Jayden Daniels looks great but he also looks like a broomstick and that worries me. 6'3" 185? What could AD do with that? Caleb Williams looks like Mahomes but past QBs for Riley also looked great. Baker Mayfield. Kyler Murray. Not so much in the NFL. Michael Penix looks phenomenal, is a multi-year starter but he's had multiple knee injuries and I wonder how long he'll last (see: Todd Gurley). Bo Nix might be the most successful NFL QB of the group. Maye and McCarthy look like the real deal and both are multiple year starters. Beck? 1 year at Georgia, with everything around him right? Let's see another year of that.

Crapshoot where you get crap more times than not.

Who's being delusional?

I think you're being delusional,

Dreaming on a pipe dream that we're gonna draft a QB in the first round! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Sometimes I wonder what you guys are thinking about? :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

First off, Stafford isn't going anywhere, for one reason,

because of the cap hit we would take.

Then to draft a QB in the first round to sit for a few years is laughable.

I take my chances with Wentz behind McVay's tutelage

and teaching him how to play the game.

Everyone was saying the same thing about Mayfield,

he was washed up.

Look what McVay did for Mayfield,

He revived his lifeline in the NFL.

Statistical wisdom says the Rams are counting on Stafford through the 2025 season. It also will likely show they will try to extend Wentz with the idea to have a quality, experienced back up while rehabbing Wentz’s reputation so that he gets another shot as a starter, probably after 2024. Both Wentz and the Rams know that this is likely his last shot at that. Lastly, the Rams will continue to look for and secure the longer term/future QB - draft and FA starting this offseason.

My bet is they take a qb but not in the 1st round. Then figure out who are the best 2 out of Wentz, Bennett, and New Guy. But that's the best 2 to sit behind Stafford as he plays for 2-3 more seasons after this one.

They have other needs in the draft, and the word is it's a loaded draft.

I think it's shaping up so it looks like they could use a defender or 2 at every level (secondary, LB/edge, & DL), and some more young talent on the OL.

I actually hope they trade the 1st rounder down. Get some more picks. I mean why not. It's a loaded draft and they are drafting well. More picks could mean more "finds."

Their re-stocking plan had a good start with the 2023 off-season. That draft is looking better every day and that's just the surprising fast starters we already know about. (Who knows who else they have...it's hard for rookies to shine, even though in fact this year several are shining. But you have to figure there are more from the 2023 draft yet to emerge). They also didn't do so bad with budget free agents and bargain trades either (Freeman, Dotson, Witherspoon). They will have the chance to do that again too in 2024--bargain trades and budget free agents.

No. I feel if Raheem Morris leaves for a Head Coaching job, I can see them using that pick on one, or later in the draft. One name that I would not mind drafting, if he comes out, is Jordan Travis. Again, it would be for the comp pick, if both Morris gets the Head Coaching gig, and Travis comes out. I'd be willing to let Travis sit for a season, to heal up, and learn as well. Right now, we should concentrate on the OLine. With the possibility of having over $60 Million, we can get a top Edge Rusher, and ILB in Free Agency, say Chase Young and Patrick Queen, respectively.

Have you seen Baker Mayfield on Tampa? Come on. He’s a bounce around the league Quarterback. Carson Wentz is not leading any team and is not a winner. The Rams signed him because they didn’t have any other Quarterback on the roster to salvage the season and compete.

Brett Rypien wasn’t it.

Matthew Stafford is a super bowl Quarterback. He is the franchise ain’t going nowhere. That shit Is obvious him and Donald and Kupp will be here for the next Three seasons.

He’s not Tom Brady playing til he’s 40.

If you think you have a shot at the the next guy you take him. It’s a Quarterback league and you need one.

This is the draft to do it.

You can draft a Carson Beck who is one of the top Quarterbacks. Shit Joe Burrow had to transfer from Ohio State to play two seasons at LSU he’s franchise.

Bo Nix will be a second round third round Quarterback you can get him.

Michael Phenix end of 1st round

Drake Maye Caleb Williams Jayden Daniels top of the 1st round.

Carson Beck middle of the 1st round.

We can take any player. I wouldn’t mind Brock Bowers tight end Georgia

Or Laiu Latu the local guy defensive end from UCLA I think he would come in and start day 1.

So depends what the team wants.

Very good draft. So good draft to have a top pick in.

I’ve been looking at Quarterbacks for awhile.

Michael Phenix looks like Rohan Davey to me. His throwing motion. Even a Jamarcus Russell at LSU who was just a big Quarterback that would sling the ball.

Gotta be careful on that.
