Rooting for losses to upgrade the draft position never ends up well.

Every win counts towards the standings and helps build the team going forward.

I've never understood the belief that losing helps anything.

Totally agree. The draft is a crap shoot. You hope to lose, get a top 3 pick, and select Zach Wilson. Oops. Or who was that stiff LT we took at #2 instead of AD whom we luckily got at pick 13, Greg Robinson. Mistakes are made at the top all the time.

Give me a team who learns who to win together and let the chips fall. They aren’t out of the playoffs. And while unlikely, they could pull it together and play really well the back half, win a bunch of games and go into the playoffs on fire. All of that serve the 2024 Rams more than losing a bunch, getting a slightly higher pick, and hoping he pans out as projected.

The Rams will identify who they want in the draft and they will make the moves needed to get those players. They do it every year and have a lot more firepower in’24.

And, they have the cap and cash to get PROVEN NFL talent. Those type of players want to go to a winner, not one of the worst teams in the league.

I expect the Rams to come out of the bye on fire and win 3 straight. Back to .500 at 6-6 and very much in the WC race.

If they don’t, then ya we get a high draft pick. And we confirm we need a lot more help and that maybe we won’t be very good in 2024. It’s that big of a difference.

Losing is a parasite; a scourge that gets inside places. You try to keep it contained, just do your bidding. But it grows, hard to remove. Sticks with organizations.

For us STHs, give me as many Ws as you can.

I’m All for competing with Stafford not so much with Wentz.

Well if no Staff, at least Wentz CAN compete.

Bennett is on the NFI list, away from the team dealing with something of a deeply personal matter.

Wentz may be better than Rypien but he's far from a guy who can make a difference at the QB position. There's a real good reason he was available. I'm a realist. This does basically and practically nothing for a team already short on talent.

From the Yardbarker...
"3. Los Angeles Rams

Even with one of the league's top receiving tandems (Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua), the Rams have a below-average offense, and without QB Matthew Stafford, the unit has a case for being one of the worst in the NFL. Stafford, who has thrown for eight touchdowns and seven interceptions this season, missed Sunday's matchup with Green Bay due to a thumb injury. In Stafford's absence, Brett Rypien got the starting nod and was abysmal (13-of-28 for 130 yards with two turnovers).

The Rams — who have added Carson Wentz to the QB room — are on a bye this week, giving Stafford an extended break to recover before their next game. Even so, Stafford's return will merely elevate the offense to competent. He's essentially serving as a placeholder for what may be a bleak future at the position. Given the promising outlook for San Francisco and Seattle, along with the 35-year-old Stafford's age and injury concerns, it could be a long next few seasons in Los Angeles."

One of many small time media outlets elbowing for room at the table. You can hear information with about the same substance via PFT. Or SB Nation. Or Downtown Rams. Etc.

Look around NFL forums and you'll find those and others lauded for their articles/info as often as they're chastised. I guess it all depends on how they fit ones own opinion.

For instance, statistically the Rams are ranked 11 spots higher than the Patriots (who are the 27th offense in the NFL) but the assclown who wrote that puts them in the company of the Giants, Jets and Raiders offenses. :roll2:
