Yes. And that's interesting. He's doing okay at guard and has played LOT as a replacement (last year, and he acquited himself in that 2021 game). To me Jackson being pretty good (plus another guy or 2) means that the Rams are about as deep as you can reasonably expect to be on the OL. It's just that right now, the number of injuries are exceeding the depth you can reasonably expect to have.

That's a difference between this year and other years (like 2007) where the Rams OL got armageddon nuked. This time, massive and extensive injuries turns up a depth player or 2. Before, it just used to be a sad comedy of subpar replacements (some of whom, in the past, were starting a week after being signed as available castoffs during the season).

So hurricanes can have a silver lining. You really can't play if you are down to your 3rd center and 5th guard against a top front 7. But! There's a player or 2 in the wreckage.

Speak of the devil.

Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Not all doom and gloom on the OL. UDFA Alaric Jackson has given up only 4 pressures in 119 pass-blocking snaps at right guard, despite only previously playing tackle (@TruMediaSports).
Rob Havenstein at RT 10 pressures in 170 PBsnaps, seems solid w/situational context.

When Edwards and Allen return,

We need to keep this line up together,

Noteboom, Edwards, Allen, Jackson, RHav

Size matters, for protection in the middle.

We can't have Allen and Shelton next to each other.

It reminds me of having both Allen and Blythe in the middle.

Its ok to have one small guy in the middle,

but not two, they seemed to get blown up with two small guys in the middle.

With the line-up I just posted,

When we play a strong DL team,

Then we could ajust the play calls and schemes to slow down the pass rush if needed.

It would give us a better chance.

When we played the Bills & 9ers,

A lot of their pressure came up the middle.

I think we could eliminate Von Miller or Bosa with a TE help,

Then control the rest of the DL with this lineup.

I agree and think Boom, Hav, Jackson, Shelton at OC, and Edwards would/will be a good line. Kolone just has to be able to communicate the protections and hopefully be able to recognize what protection to call then call them himself instead of Stafford doing it. If he can do that this week, and if the Rams can get the run game going and the quick bit passing game - not smoke screens more slants, speed out, whip out, come backs inside the hashes (old school hook/curl routes) it will help reduce the insane amount of pressure Staff has to deal with. And we might even get into the end zone!!

Can you believe MCV’s offense can’t score???

So what your saying is Boom, Edwards, Allen/Shelton, Jackson and Havenstein aren't a pedestrian OL?

My own opinion is that that could be a solid line. Though being "solid" doesn't mean they can dominate the top front 7s. That's an old McVay Rams thing--solid OL overall, not always consistent.

2021 draft the Rams select Tutu Atwell at 57 over with Creed Humphrey available.

Atwell is McSnead’s Trung Candidate.
