All signs point to a team playing here (the NFL is now looking for a temp venue) and with a little common sense the league will realize the only team is the Rams and our hopes will come to fruition.

It's still hard to believe that this whole Carson thing was a ruse to keep the Rams from an alleged 25% of the Chargers market share,,, which is a load of crap anyway. The absurdity of it is why I considered it a possibility. I mean who in their right mind would build a public stadium on top of a toxic landfill in a liquefaction zone anyway? And for 1 team nobody cares about and another who a terrible fit for the 'doing LA right' mantra.

So last night somewhat proved Carson is a bluff or at the very least a shoddy rag tag team of Keystone cops trying to squeeze in the revolving door at the same time. That is doing LA right.
So Kroenke helps Oakland build to something, and Spanos can wallow with his dad's fortune in "Americas Finest City". Inglewood is leverage and that affords Spanos all he needs to get a deal done there. So it's Rams in LA all by their lonesome. Well they've got us.

Elvis. They are trying to throw something together at a difficult location. They do not have their crapola together and that meeting was proof of it. this was all about trying to stop Kroenke and possibly get into LA before the opportunity closes. To little too late. they obviously don't think Carson is important enough or the local media is important enough to show up. That is a huge tell.
Their spin on this will sound reasonable possibly, but I am interested to see what they come up with now.
Either way. The NFL must be taking notes, and unless they are hellbent on the Charaiders in LA, they can't overlook it.

What follows is a more detailed report of what I observed.

I got there an hour early. News crews from KUSI San diego, KNBC 4 and FOX 11 of LA were setting up. Mayor Albert Robles showed up shortly after and was interviewed on camera by KUSI. I introduced myself as a longtime Carson resident to the mayor and asked if I could have a few minutes of his time, We then had a conversation (this time with Fox 11 and KNBC filming). I asked about the paper trail, he put it on Jim Dear, his predecessor, and said he didn't know of any recorded conversations. I asked about the remediation process of the site and where the Calif. State Board of Health and the EPA stood on when construction would begin. He said there where ongoing talks with those agencies. I asked if there would be a question and answer period after the presentation. He said he hadn't talked to the guest speakers yet but at least he would answer questions.
I then started inside and was stopped by the KUSI news team. the lead asked me several questions (with the camera going) She asked me what I meant by "remediation" I explained about the site being a former landfill and toxic waste disposal site, and that the Calif. State Board of health and the EPA had requirements that must be met before construction could begin. None of them had heard that before. I told her that's why I was there. I wanted answers.
I then went inside, lots of raider fans making a lot of noise. Chanting "bring them back" "Chargers suck". Great way to start a partnership, eh? Plenty of Charger fans too. some Ram hats and Jersey;s
Meeting start at 6:30 Mayor gave a pep talk about how great a place Carson would be for a stadium, then all three council members gave their pep talk. Fred Rogan gave his opinion. Which was the highlight of the meeting.
Mayor came back on and apologized for Carmen Policy not showing up, and that Mark Fabriani wouldn't give a presentation either. No mention of Tim Romer of Godman-Sachs, another no-show. Thanks for coming, Go Carson, and goodbye have a nice night. mayor looked embarrassed.

No presentation, No Mark Fabriani, No Carmen Policy, No Tim Romer of Godlman-Sachs. No questions answered. No representative from the Radiers, the Chargers, the NFL or Goldman-Sachs.

Total snub job by the Raiders and Chargers. If they really wanted to build a stadium in Carson they sure didn't help themselves with the citizens and city fathers of Carson.

I talked to a lot of people after the meeting outside and the general feeling was the Inglewood project was most likely to happen. Most felt Carson was being used, Again.

I've always thought from day one that Carson is a pawn in the NFL stadium game. I can't wait to hear the spin from the media. Somehow they will still use Carson as a "viable option".

I also had a brief conversation with Fred Rogan, with no one listening in. He told me not to miss his show today , as he will have A LOT to say about this "fiasco" (his words). I also told him about this forum, he wrote it down and said he would check us out.

That's about it. Nothing really new. Dog and pony show IMHO. Inglewood just got a boost.

The fact that Policy was supposed to be there but wasn't and Fabiani didn't speak seems really odd to me. Say what you will but when it comes to PR The Chargers usually have their act together.
