Stafford is what I expected and I'm happy as hell about it.

Goff is gone and I'm attached to Stafford now. Because, well, team first for me. If us being wrong on Goff makes you feel better, I'm happy for you. We should all be able to feel good.

Some people would almost rather our team to be shit just so they can be right. It's good that you and I aren't one of those people... 8-)

If Detroit cuts him, and took a hit on his salary.

How many would take Goff as a backup back on the RAMs,

The same amount of money we gave to Bortles as a backup.

I would want him back if that was the case.

For one, he knows the offense and McVay knows him.

Wolfie doesn't cut it...

Plus I would like to see Wolfie get put on the inactive and put Perkins on active for some games the next couple of weeks,
especially if we start putting up points against some of these weak teams,
so Perkins can get some playing time.

That being said,

Since McVay knows Goffs, I think he will take advantage and expose Goff even more.

Speaking for myself opinion of Jared Goff was, and still is, that he's capable of playing at a very high level with the right supporting cast. That's what made him a 100+ passer rating QB with the Rams in 2017 and 2018. In 2019 and 2020, his play was inconsistent as the OL struggled at times, the running game was less consistent in the post-Gurley period, and the Rams lacked a consistent deep threat.

Put Goff on this year's Cowboys or Bucs team...he probably has very good numbers. In Detroit, nobody is particularly surprised that he's not able to elevate a weak offensive roster.

For me, the biggest eye opener is how much better Stafford is than Goff. When the trade was first announced, I concede that I was not all that psyched about it because, not having watched Stafford that closely, I didn't realize how good he is. Now, its pretty clear.

Here’s the thing. Many didn’t realize how good Stafford is because of how bad the team was. In the same manner, many overrated Goff because of how good the team was.

Goff looked really good when Gurley was playing like a HOFer, and the OL was tops. If Stafford had that he’d have looked otherworldly.

After the swap, it all shows.

But in the right circumstance he could be serviceable enough. It would have to be as a backup with teams like TB, KC, etc. Teams that have good coaching and surrounding talent. A mediocre offense and he'll continue to struggle. I imagine he'll have to take a massive pay cut to continue playing quarterback in the NFL after his Lions tenure is over.

I will concede that this is a possibility.

Goff's key seems to have been a healthy Gurley. When that went away so did most of Goff's apparent skills.

So, let’s shift the debate to how we think Goff and the Detroit O is going to fare against our D?

Me thinks the Rams will jump all over the Detroit D, get a good lead, and make their O totally one dimensional. Goff will be running fir his life and you KNOW the Rams D is looking forward to hitting him often.

AD get 3 sacks. Team gets 6. Although Goff will be checking it down as fast and often as he possibly can.

Here's a big takeaway for me regarding this chart.

Stafford is getting downplayed by PFF and other evaluators. In the case of fantasy analysts, they downplay Stafford cause he doesn't run, yet in my league only Mahomes and Brady have outscored him. But look at the rankings every week, Stafford is never in the top 5.

Thats why I will never pay for a FF site again. Fucking idiots.

I had a run in with John Paulsen over at 4for4. He ranked Tannehill over Stafford, called Stafford ho-hum, and when I reacted to that yesterday, he told me hindsight was 20-20 and I shouldn't have taken Tannehill over Stafford. The balls on this arrogant jerk. He plays himself up as this super expert, then when he gets something wrong, its someone else's fault.

Bottomline, all these fantasy expert rankings are a scam. And PFF is another scam posing as an in-depth analytical resource.

Folks, we can see it with our own eyes, and bounce that off what the straightforward stats are. Stafford is at the top of passer rating and QBR, enough said.
