All fair questions.

I know a lot of us have not been happy with Noteboom up to this point. Maybe they aren't either?

I feel that Noteboom is more suited as a LT than playing on the inside....

He did pretty good playing LT when Whit went down on an injury....

Where as Edwards played better on the inside.

So Noteboom will be our Swing Tackle for the season IMO....

Noteboom is in the last year of his contract. This may not bode well for his future as a Ram. OTOH, do we even know if he was there?

Andrew Whitworth (left tackle), David Edwards (left guard), Austin Corbett (center), Bobby Evans (right guard), Rob Havenstein (right tackle)

Depth: Joe Noteboom (left tackle, can play guard in an emergency), Brian Allen (center), Coleman Shelton (center), Tremayne Anchrum (swing), Chandler Brewer (guard or tackle), Jamil Demby (G)

This is the alignment a source with knowledge of the Rams’ plans for the offensive line told me the coaching staff is projecting — though things can obviously change from now to training camp. The big move here is Corbett, who has not played a snap of center for the Rams (they inserted former center Austin Blythe into the starting role because they felt Corbett was better at guard). Moving Corbett away from the position he played full-time in 2020 creates two questions, both at center and at his former spot. The source also indicated that McVay is looking to add more power to his trademark outside-zone scheme, which would mean getting a little more bulk at center. The Rams have only drafted for their offensive line once in the past two years, and while they seem to have a plan in the immediate, with contracts coming up and the ever-present threat of injuries, it’s a gamble in the longer term. The Rams added two promising undrafted free agents Saturday in Iowa tackle Alaric Jackson and Western Kentucky center Jordan Meredith.

The Rams players recently put out a statement that concluded:

Therefore, we have decided as a team we will not be attending in-person voluntary team activities and will instead continue to strive to improve ourselves and each other where we are!

Yet we saw a bunch of them on the field together at these OTAs. Obviously as a fan i think that's awesome. But what gives? Did they issue another statement, offer an explanation for the change? Am i misunderstanding what they said in the first place and maybe it didn't apply to last week?

Is it because of Ja Wuan James?

Who didn't attend?

Not a big deal but certainly the kind of thing that makes me curious...

Why wouldn't it bode well for Noteboom's future for the RAMs? I think it would especially for the RAMs, because of him not starting, his next contract wouldn't be top NFL LT pay.... it would be more realistic unless you have some other team that would be willing to take a chance to pay him top dollar as a LT... and I dont see that happening because there is not enough tape on him... except for only those eight games he started.

That's a fair point and if the Rams extend him before FA next year we'll know.

But i can easily see this going the way of Blythe, Everett and so many others who the Rams are willing to lose once their contracts are up. Again, no knock on Noteboom, just how the Rams tend to do things...
