The Raiders are still considered to be in my local station's market. The 49ers are always shown here. So that is three games right there for me. The Rams are seeing more prime time games now. Not to mention sometimes they show Rams games if it doesn't conflict with the 49ers. I have a feeling I'll get over half their games on TV this year.

The rest will be streaming for me. Its come a long way from the days of choppy, stop/start on the computer. And having to have another game on the TV so I can see what the score is in real time.

I'm fine with not paying for games. Now if they came up with a paid streaming service where you can pick just one team the whole season for less, then I'd definitely be interested.

I'm old enough to remember getting paid double time, free food, extra drinks to work Sundays so I could man the 6 foot satellite dishes at the sports bar I worked at. Sometimes we'd have to watch the raw feed without audio: but the upside was not having commercials.

Before encryption and post Telstar, in the 80's I had a 10' parabolic dish on my garage roof with a polar rotor that could move the dish between satellites like Ekran , Satcom 1 & 2, Galaxy 2, AAFRTs etc. It's amazing you could get an accurate shots at satellites 23,000 miles up by hitting a remote in your livingroom. The old C-band had a good signal for the times too.
We used to look for the feed cameras. Sideline cameras which were always hot. Get the uplinks and there were no broadcasters. Every televised game played in every city. That was cool.

The best raw feed we got was in the week or so leading up to the Gulf War. Pierre Salinger was sitting at the ABC desk in London and was getting ready for a live segment on Nightline. He was smoking a huge cigar and drinking a scotch on the rocks while talking with Ted Koppel over the ear piece.

But then he started rubbing his nose. Then he blew into a tissue. Finally Pierre said fuck it and decided to dig for gold then picked his nose. The only people that saw it might have been us and whoever was at ABC news headquarters in NY. Those of us at the bar cheered like it was a game winning home run.

I doubt it as this was 30+ years ago and we were digging around the Canadian satellites trying to find a hockey game when we came upon this raw ABC feed.

During a break the stream I've been using just has "Commercial Break In Progress" on the screen. I think I'd rather see a commercial than that boring part. At least Geico can be funny sometimes.

Spectrum Sports on DTV stream does that during Dodgers games. A few commercials might show but the rest is that splash screen and awful repeat jingle music. My gal has the same complaint as yours,,, lol.

Ballys Sports Midwest is the same tune over and over. The worst is hockey games between periods and it goes for like 5 minutes straight. The segment is like 15 seconds long so it's just a constant loop.
