I like Taylor but his blocking is an issue. He's like a WR playing out of the TE position. If the Rams played their TE like a WR, i.e. out of the Y position he would be my choice. But I think Terrance Ferguson offers the same speed and route running as Taylor and he's a better blocker. IMO it's the blocking that makes him a scheme fit for the Rams. That was Higbee's issue early in his career. He's had to improve as he matured his game. Blocking is the issue with Long and Allen and it's why they missed Higbee. I don't think that was lost on McVay and Snead. It's why though taking a TE is a realistic option at 26 and I wouldn't be surprised if they did two other positions give better value in the first round. QB and CB are expensive positions of need for the Rams. When they draft now they must consider the long term cap impact. QB and CB are probably where they will get their best value in the first round. If Landman plays MIKE up to his 2023 level (pre-injury level) the Rams have their MIKE LB to pair with Speights. I think Havenstein hasn't been extended yet because they want to look at both Leveston and McClendon in OTAs first. The Rams need a good OT to play swing OT this year. I think they will look hard at Leveston in OTAs but probably figure they can sign a vet FA OT after the last cutdown. As far as starters are concerned this year I think they are all on the roster right now. This draft is more about next year IMO. It's why I think their first 4 picks will be QB, CB, TE, RB maybe not in that order but that IMO is what their priority is likely to be. If they hit on players in those positions this roster is complete. The rest is developmental depth and STs. by Youngblood22 2 weeks 1 day ago Total posts: 151 Joined: Aug 31 2023 LA Coliseum Rookie Give Me Your Draft Picks POST #195 Elvis liked this post If the Rams took TE Ferguson in the 3rd I would be good with that but I like TE Taylor better.
