Trading a 27 year old for a 37 year old isn't good from the start. 1 year deal if it saves cap space makes it a consideration. 5 years ago, no brainer.

I'd say we have a 2-3 year window to win a Super Bowl before he retires (1-2 if we don't fix the pass protection).

Rogers is mobile enough but we saw what happens when protection breaks down too much. Brady had better protection and won the game. I think that shows how important it is to shore up the line. I seriously doubt we can upgrade Goff this year. He's probably going to be the starter again. If they want to be a top tier team they have to improve the line.

I'm more curious about what Rams fans reaction will be if he ends up in Frisco.

This ^^^^^^ is perhaps the most sensible post of yours I ever read. Ironic too, that you admit what fans think isn't what real NFL people think. You know, the guys who actually earn living making football decisions.

Ok, I've cooled down a bit. We are stuck with Goff's ginormous contract for at least another year.
Why not bring in either of Tyrod Taylor (UFA) or go after Marcus Mariotta?
Marcus could be a very effective, roll-out QB with some true running ability. He's only 27. He's a better athlete than Tannehill whose career skyrocketed with much better coaching.
Let's at least have a real QB competition, and yes, I want to see Wofford in that battle too.

Brady's protection was better "at times". But he threw 3 picks and did everything he could to let GB back into the game. If Rodgers wasn't overly fixated on #17, maybe they would have.

Overall, I don't think each of their OL's showed to be that much better than the Rams. Neither ran the ball very well and each QB was under pressure.
